Songkran
by Ike_2005
Songkran is the Thai New Year. The custom is to pour a little bit of water on someone elses hands to bless them. Well the foreigners and bar girls have changed it up a bit. In Pattaya Songkran is the biggest water fight you'll ever see in your life. It is on April 19th, but the water fight lasts a full week in Pattaya. It starts on the 12th or 13th and ends on the 19th. It was the biggest wet tee-shirt contest I ever saw in my life. After seeing all those soaking wet girls I felt truly blessed. The picture is of a few of the guys with their water cannons. Those guns dump about a gallon of water on you in about 3-5 seconds. It is definitely worth going to see if you don't mind getting wet. Make sure you put all your valuables in a plastic bag before you go out. They don't care if you have your digital camera in your hand. If you're on the street you're a target.

Finest restaurant in Pattaya!
by JoelWillTravel about Fra Pattaya
This open air restaurant has basic but clean surroundings. The staff are very friendly and service is excellent, the food is a mix of Tha, Chinese, Seafood and with some western dishes thrown in. We went there every single day while we were in Pattaya is was so tasty, the prices are really good also. I had many favourite dishes from this restaurant but below are my top 3.
1. Steamed white snapper in soya bean sauce
2. Roast duck noodle soup
3. Fried pork in red Thai curry
Pattaya Beach
by Wann
Where you can relax on beach chair, see various activities on the beach but can be crowded or very crowded sometimes such as weekend, a little bit annoy from vendor(but good to have some people say hello to you from time to time). Both Pattaya beach and Jomtien beach are quite the same offering; beach chair, meal, beach vendors but to me Jomtien beach where a bit further out from Central Pattaya is more peaceful especially on weekday.
HOEK VAN HOLLAND
by RoyJava
If you enter the JomTien Beach and head for the trendy Dong Tarn Beach you'll pass HOEK VAN HOLLAND for sure. It is a very nice cafe where you can have the wonderful and famous "broodje kroket" for about 150 Baht, ie. a bread roll with a truly Dutch croquet.
That is because of Pieter who is the Dutch owner of HOEK VAN HOLLAND (Dutch city "Corner of Holland"). Some other Dutch specialities he offers, like broodje pindakaas (peanut butter), Dutch pommes frites/potatoes and some Dutch meat-recipes ... Can you imagine how the Dutch represent their not that cheap traditions, heeheeh ...
