Nova Lodge hotel is in an excellent location on Central Pattaya Road. Right next to TOPS supermarket and many other nice restaurants. Convenient for Baht Bus into South Pattaya and towards most tourist attractions. Friendly and helpful staff, has fantastic buffet breakfast and staff will cook dishes to order. Has safety deposit boxes in reception and also tour desk to book all your excursions. Rooms are basic but nice and clean, one thing that sticks in my mind about this hotel is the grounds that surround it. Nice lush greenery and a nice pool to compliment it. Right accross the road is a currency exchange which is really handy when you need it in a hurry.
Friendly staff and fantastic pool area, really good breakfast :-)
I have stayed at the Nova Lodge a couple of times now, price is reasonable, depending on what time of year you go. Price will vary from $35-$50aud for a standard room. Rooms are pretty good, also they serve a buffet breakfast which will fill the most hungry.
Fantastic swimming pool, with a bar roughly inbetween the pool and restaurant. Has tourist guide, taylor, internet, massage, laundry etc downstairs to make your stay more comfortable!
I stayed at Nova Lodge for a week (pre paid) in January 2009. Quite possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Staff never smile. Paid for superior room and got a dirty hovel with three single beds in it (just me staying there). Made 2 phone calls from my room (5 minutes each) and was charged 2,200 baht on departure for the calls. Whatever you do do not make a phone call from here. Breakfast was horrible. Hotel full of leather skinned older German males who are really unfriendly. Say hello and they ignore you. The only friendly face I saw in a week was the cat that sits out the front all day!! Do not stay here - so many other alternatives that are superb and cheaper. Areca Lodge is far superior for the same price.
Nova Lodge: Recommended but Run down. Great Staff, Good Value

First visited this hotel more than 20 years ago. It is the oldest hotel in Pattaya and still has many of the original staff. The staff are excellent. The rooms are run down and shabby, The once superb gardens now have tall iron fencing cutting them in half. The pool is superb. It is still a good place for a relaxing stay and the beach across the road is well served by wonderful veteran multi-lingual beach ladies who will set you up with a deck-chair, beach umbrellas, manicures, snacks etc.
Stayed at the Nova Lodge recently and was very disappointed indeed. I've stayed here intermittently for the past 6 years but whatever charm it had has now evaporated! The Nova Lodge has been 'run down' for quite some time but it usually managed to retain an endearing quality that made up for its many shortcomings. Unfortunately the hotels gradual descent into seedy guest house territory has now not only been reached but surpassed! The hotel is now an unpleasant place to stay.
The staff were predominantly unhelpful, humourless and on occasion bordered on rude, the rooms are dirty, poorly maintained and very gloomy. The once appetizing breakfast has been reduced to a stodgy, bland selection of poor quality dishes. Housekeeping is a joke and the previously well kept pool and gardens are very tired and not looked after with any enthusiasm. Even the most tolerant and generous of guests will find it difficult to find any aspect worthy of recommendation in this apathetically managed hotel. The Nova Lodge should be avoided.
The location is very good indeed and the only positive aspect of this otherwise depressing place.
