When is the best time to visit Thailand?
by Travel2write
Pattaya enjoys a tropical wet and dry climate, which is divided into the following seasons.
Warm and Dry (November to February),
Hot and Humid (March to May)
Hot and Rainy (June to October)
The most comfortable time of year coinsides with the peak tourist season, which is on and around Christmas and New Years. Songkran festival!
The Songkran festival, which marks the start of the Thai traditional New Year, is also known as the water festival which is believed to wash away bad luck. The festival takes place several differnt times throughout the country, and will make you feel like your 10 yrs old again enjoying a waterfight with your friends.
Fondest Memory: Although I wasn't prepared for what was ahead of us, it was by far the most enjoyable time I have had in Thailand
It's a party like no other
by Rushland about Walking Street
It's kind of dead during the day, but at night the block off the street and things start jumping. There are restaurants, shops, bars, clubs, go-go bars, and more bars.
Girls and guys try to get you to go to their club/ bars. They're nice about it though, not aggresive at all. There is no dress code. Dress light as it's hot and humid @ Sept. The dry season isn't until Oct, I think.
Jump in and out a taxi
by filipdebont
Well sometimes you aren't in the mood for walking, or you have to carry lots of bags after a day of shopping, no problem, In Pattaya there are plenty of taxis.
These blue pickup trucks are called Song Theaws here.
It is really easy to take one, just rise your hand, when a pickup truck stops, just jump in, when you reach your destination, press the bell, it stops, jump out, go to the cabin and pay.
Beach Road and Second road are both one-way Roads, so on Beach Rd the taxis ride from the North to the South and on Second Rd they ride from South to the North part of the city. So just up to you to decide which direction you want to go, just go to either one of these roads.
Price of a ride starts from 10 baht (for a foreigner).
If your destination is out of these 2 roads, then you have to ask the driver, and negotiate about the price. If the price he asks is too high, just take another one.
