Are you looking for a cheap place to have a massage ? Then make your way past the Dolphin statue along Na Kluea Rd until you get to Soi Ping Pah.Keep walking towards the beach and you will come across Susiree Health Center. This place is worth a visit if you want to relax and get a massage by a blind masseur. The price is very resonable 120 baht 1 hour air-con room.I recommend the Herbal steam bath as well for 100 baht as long as you want. There is also a vegetarian food center which provides cooking classes and meals. For yor health!
Tourist Taxi
by johnbradshawlayfield
We went to Pattaya on tourist Taxi. It took us about 4 hrs to reach there from our hotel in Bangkok and about 5 hrs from Pattaya to BIA. Now, it may take a little more time to reach the Suvarnabhumi airport as it is outside Bangkok.
An Easy Place to Try Southeast Asian Foods
by gaolei about Food Wave Court Pattaya
Want to try something different in Southeast Asian food, but can't figure out the menu or afraid you won't get waht you really wanted, here is a way to do that.
The Food Wave is in the top floor of Royal Garden in Pattaya. It consists of a half dozen or so different theme kitchens. You can choose from Thai, Issan Thai, Vietnamese, Hong Kong, and several others. They have a beverage, juice, beer, coke place, and a desert kitchen. There are examples of all the dishes at each small kitchen. All you have to do is point and enjoy. Someone will make the dish and bring it to your table as you enjoy the view of Pattaya beach from the top of Royal Plaza. I had the red curry beef last time and it was quite good.
A time to relax
by austarman
Relaxing is what a holiday is all about, and the beaches of Pattaya give you the perfect setting to do just that.
Order what ever you like it it will be brought to you beach-side deck chair.
The water here is beautiful and clear, and not too cold like it is back home in Australia.
Also traders will come past your deck chairs selling anything from fruit and drinks to wooden elephants and sarongs.
Barter hard for a good price, but beware that if you do buy something on the beach, that other sellers will be drawn to you like flies if you are not discreet about it.
Anything You Want... And some things you dont
by DSwede
I must say that I had successfully avoided Pattaya in all my previous visits to Thailand. However this time, coming on business a few kilometers away, in MapTaPhut (Rayong), I could not escape its grasp.
The history goes that it was a sleepy fishing village until some American G.I.'s went there for some R&R during the Vietnam War. Its reputation as a relaxing destination with friendly locals fated it to be the neon light district that it is today.
Thailand being what it is, is very open to individuality and does not discriminate, particularly when it comes to sexuality. Prostitution is legal, and among the poorer areas, a fairly respected and accepted career.
I've traveled a lot and have a hard time coming up with a place that can come close to complete with the title of "Prostitution and Girly-Boy Capital of the World"...
While the tourist sites in Pattaya may be limited, the red-light district and go-go bars themselves are the highlight. While it may not be recommended for children and family holidays, it can be entertaining for men and women alike if they are not shy and can maintain an open mind.
