Sorry, can't help you, tho' I went several times to Pattaya as a child. Just thiught I should warn you (if you don't already know) that - alas - it's pretty much a prostitutes' monopoly these days.

Yeah, there are bars in Pattaya, Bangkok too! Maybe you shouldn't go to Bangkok either, only kidding!

There are tourists with children who return to Pattaya year after year with no problems. You can avoid the bars if you choose or go in and have a drink or two - no one holds a gun up to your face and forces you to come in!

Pattaya has lots of travel agents who can easily set you up with tours or other things you are interested in.

The only big travel agency that comes to mind right now is Malibu Travel. (http://www.pattayainfo.com/travel.html#M)

Even some of the expensive hotels have travel agencies or tour reps.

More info if you want to cut and paste it in.

Baht bus travel in Pattaya is real cheap, only 10 baht for foreigners. Most often a baht bus is heading for what you want to see or near enough to only be a short walk. Google up a map of Pattaya and see how close lots of places are.

There are simply loads of travel shops in Pattaya. Some better than others....don't take the first offer you get try a few first.

The sex trade is big in Pattaya but not aggressive and certainly not a monopoly. Don't listen to someone who hasn't been there for years!

Travel Tips for Pattaya

by mickshe about Royal Garden Plaza

I enjoyed shopping here because there undies are so inexpensive..these are branded ones and I bought a lot since its less the price I normally pay when i buy it somewhere else...

Songthaew iT!

by YaaDong

Songthaews (PICK UP WITH SEATS AT THE BACK) are the general mode of transportation around Pattaya if you don't have a car/bike.From the bus station to your hotel around Beach Road is about 40 baht. Any other time prices change depending on if you look like a tourist or not .Sometimes I've been charge 10 baht for a trip and then get on another and get charged 20- 40 baht. A "rip off" but that's how it is in Pattaya.Songthaews are available regularly throughout the day & night ,they will take you to where you want to go....just press the bell when you want to get off

You can choose a Chef's Creation Sandwich;

These are just two examples of the Chefs Creation Sandwiches.
But you also can create your own Sandwich.
Start with choosing a kind of bread (croissant, French bread, multigrain, ...), choose a topping (smoked ham, tuna salad, cheese, . . .), choose a spread (butter, mustard, mayonnaise, ..), choose vegetables (tomato, lettuce, onion,...) - price 75 Baht A sandwich with fresh Mozzarella Cheese and tomato

It's all Go Go around here!

by austarman

It's good to just walk through here sometimes and watch the sprukers trying to get you to go in thier bars.
There are also many things for sale on walking street, as well as lots of music coming from the bars and many interestng people to look at.
Judging by what I saw my tip for best disco would be Marine but go late.
Avoid Tony's disco as they are so money hungry they take your drink before you finish it and try to sell you stuff in the toilets.
My tips for best Go Go bar would be Coyote's or the Tiger Go Go.

Pit Stop for steaming ahead

by ctheworld07

"Chill Out Zone"

Think about a small bubbling township, think about the beach , think about no hold barred entertainment........and you have this Place popping up in any travellers itinerary when your destination in South East Asia.

I ventured into this city ( in absence of any demographic figures, I tak ethe liberty to call it a City ) without any plans, without any hotel booking and without any known contacts. At the end of 5 days of Pit Stop, I only have to say ....You can do the Same.

If there was a place which makes a tourist be on himself /herself this is the one and the presence of a continous coast line with white surf only makes it a must visit spot.

Day 1 : Land up after a 1-5 hrs of drive from Bangkok , and it takes just two hotels round and you get an accomodation on the 4th floor of a centrally located comfortable hotel at just 1200 Bhats. If that was not enough, true to the thai style you have a whole lot of hotel staff coming forward to make your itinerary for the remaining days. Having had a late night at Bgkk I decide to take it easy and just relax. The short spurt of rains in the evening only supports my decision to stay in door. But as I was to realise in the remaining days, Pattaya is best enjoyed outside your room ; )))))
