Average beach.
If you're looking for a beach holiday, Pattaya is not the best place to choose. The beach is OK, there are plenty of boat trips and water sports, but there are many much better beach holiday places in Thailand.

g,day going to pattaya in may/june 2010 i would really enjoy going deep sea fishing with a mate or two can any one recommend a company to use. any pricing info etc would be appreciated thanx people
Sorry to disappoint you but you're out of luck or it will cost you and arm & leg.
A couple years ago I tried to book a trip with my father. We saw some of those tourist trip booking places, the ones that advertise everything from elephant treking to deep sea fishing, but when it came to them booking a trip, it was a total waste of time.
They want about 10 people / trip. Your job is to find 9 other people. Don't expect the tourist place to put you on a list and hope 9 others also are looking. There is no list. You're going to pay upwards of 10,000 Baht to go fishing and I have no idea what you'll get out of it.
When we couldn't get anywhere with the tourist operators reserving us a spot, we headed down to the pier and started talking with the boat owners. Not one of them seemed too interested in taking us out fishing. We tried to negotiate down the price but they didn't budge too much. They wanted us to find about 8 others to get the cost down. They really didn't seem too concerned with trying to book a fishing trip. I guess they must be financially secure in life that they don't need to make money from these charters.
Save some time and start banging your head against the wall now. You'll be doing a lot of it later if you try booking a trip upon visit. It's the worst run tourist option available. There really isn't a market for it.
Your only luck will come if one of the major tourist companies that handles the buses of Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, books a trip out for their tourists and you're able to add yourself to their tour boat, otherwise, you'll have a hard time mustering up enough people to keep the costs respectable.
I wish you luck.
thanks thai guy i was comming to that conclusion myself. and yes my head is sore already lmao found a decent one in phuket 8000thb for the boat for 12 hours. seems like the go (maybe)! once again i apreciate the reply :)

i was a bit dissapointed in the show, maybe it is because we saw the last show of the day (at 9.30PM) and the 'girls' where doing their act without any enthousiasm. I am glad i saw the show because the clothes are amazing and the 'girls' really look more than great.
On several places, mostly on road corners you lots of young people with motto bikes.
These are the motto-taxis.
Just ask them to bring you somewhere, negotiate about the price, and they bring you.
It is a cheap and fast way of transport.
Depending on the distance the price is mostly around 20 - 30 baht.
You can easily recognise these guys as they are all wearing green, red or blue jackets.
Koh Larn Island is a nice Island about 20 mins speedboat ride from Pattaya. If you get there nice and early you'll have the beach to yourself. The water is nice and clean and the sand nice and golden. You can snorkel, jetski, parasail or banana boat near here. There is also a small shop selling souvenirs, and freshly cooked Thai food. You can also hire sun loungers and other equipment. When I was there in 2004 I hired a football to play with on the beach. The best thing about Koh Larn Island is you will not get bothered by any vendors trying to sell you things and there is no sign of traffic unlike South Pattaya and Jomtien beaches. I payed around 1000 baht in 2004 for a speedboat to take me to Koh Larn from Jomtien, the boat also waited for me all day and returned late in the afternoon.
World-famous for this particular resting time ...
... a traditional body massage in Pattaya, Thailand.
It is like breathing, eating and sleeping.
Everybody does speak body-language.
It's the legal way to touch the body in a delicate way.
No sexual thoughts ... that's the different part.
Watch the commercials in the streets.
And ... it is so good!
Also the head-, foot-, facial-massage.
So, do it!
Enjoy your Thai Body Massage!
