makland hotel and july weather

by normsafc

can anyone tell me about the markland hotel and about the weather for early july

Re: makland hotel and july weather

by SirHalberd

Here is a weather map on Thailand:

Rain in Thailand

There will be a little more rain but the rain usually doesn't last too long. Normally there is enough sunshine to give you a good tan or sunburn. Rain usually stops in an hour or two. Some localized flooding until the drains can handle the deluge.

Mark-Land Hotel is in a good position between Beach Road and Pattaya 2nd Road. You can use the cheap baht bus travel to reach the South Pattaya part of the city for 10 baht. Beach Road is one way South and Pattaya 2nd Road is mostly one way going North.

Never used this hotel, there are hundreds in Pattaya. Depends on what you want to do. I prefer something halfway between South Pattaya and North Pattaya, but that is my preference (Soi Honey Inn area.)

You can walk to the Big C Mall from your hotel, there are street vendors near the Kiss Restaurant area (Dolphin) and many travel agents for tours.

There are cheaper hotels in the 500 - 700 baht range that are not too bad if you want to save some money, with air, hot water, private toilet of course!

If you are part of a "couple" then this location is probably okay, keep in mind that "Walking Street" is on one end of Beach Road and you are on the other end (fortunately baht bus is only 10 baht!)

If you intend to do some bar hopping during the evening hours, my preference is to have something halfway between the Mark Land and Walking Street so that you can walk to more places.

Travel Tips for Pattaya

Order a painting

by filipdebont about Siam Art Shop

You just enter this shop with a picture of you or family or your pet. You select a size and a few days later you can take a wonderful painting home.

Before four years I bought a painting of my parents. I gave them a nice picture of my parents, and a few days later I had a very originally present to take home.

They can also make copies of master pieces, so if you want a Picasso or a Dali in your living room, this is the place to be. A painting of (and for) a beloved one (or for yourself of course) 1 person : (30 x 40) 1500 Baht, till (60x80) 5000 Baht

2 persons : (35x40) 3500 Baht till (60x80) 7000 Baht

3 persons : (40x50) 4800 Baht till (60x80) 8500 Baht

4 persons : (40x50) 5900 Baht till (60x80) 9500 Baht

5 persons : (45x60) 8000 Baht till (60x80) 11500 Baht

6 persons : (50x60) 9500 Baht till (60x80) 12500 Baht

These prices are for portraits of people, dogs and cat, head to shoulder.

How to get back to the Airport or Bangkok

by gaolei

Time to go home. How do you get out of this town? Here is the secret.

All of those taxi's drivers that deliver tourists to Pattaya all want to go back to their homes in Bangkok, even better if they can get a customer to pay their way back. Well, that's what they do. When they arrive in Pattaya they check in with local agencies that look for customers for them and get a commission for their work.

As you walk down Second road you will see signs advertising taxis to Bangkok or BKK for 800 to 1200 Bhat. These are the street agents for the agencies that line up the taxis. Just walk up and tell them where you want to meet your driver. They will pick you up at your hotel at whatever hour of the day or night you wish. Make your arrangements and get a receipt Make sure you understand what you purchased, who pays tolls and will they take the motorway. At the requested time your taxi will arrive. Make sure you have your receipt!

Local food

by filipdebont about Food Land

On the Third Floor of the Royal Garden Plaza (a big shopping centre), you find Food Land.

Food Land is a place with different food stalls which are all serving local Thai food.

It is great to try some local food, at very cheap prices.

There is always a great atmosphere as the clients are a mixture of Thai people and tourists. Fried Noodles with shrimps (or with chicken, or porc) (35 - 55 Baht)

Staying in a hotel in the Southern part of Pattaya the WALKING STREET was just around the corner. You're supposed to go for a walk here, don't you? Well, go for a sexy walk then! You'll be surprised how Thai people bring their kids and show them how the sometimes very young babydoll-girls pose in the Go-go bars to impress passing tourists. The kids love it and imitate the Go-go girls ...

It's worth remembering that sex tourism is a booming industry in Pattaya. The locals do not mind, the authorities connives at the same time, as long as the "farang" or Westen sex tourists do come and, enjoy with a lot of pleasure in this self-styled, semipedestrianised meeting zone.

Pattaya - A great destination in Thailand

by sarahreynold

Pattaya is of course one of Thailand's most famous destinations. The mistake so many people makes is that there is just so much more to the Pattaya than the busy city are. The central area of pattaya is certainly busy with shops, restaurants, bars and nightlife, but those restaurants include some superb Pattaya restaurant, entertainment ranges from small bars to exccellent night spots. The main beach is a city beach, so don't expect too much, but north and south of the City area are beaches such as Naklua to the north and Jomtien beach to the south. Go beyond Jomtien and you can find some lovely quiet beach hotels and resorts.
There are the fabulous Vegas style shows at Tiffany's and Alcazar, and the amazing Alangkarn Show. Underwaterworld, Ripley's Believe it or Not, day trips to Koh Larn Island and just so much more. Certainly there is a great deal more to Pattaya than simply entertainment.

"Pattaya Hotels"

Pattaya has a huge choice of hotels ranging from budget Pattaya hotels to top luxury Pattaya hotels. There are also small hotels and boutique hotels in Pattaya. Overall Pattaya hotel rates are cheap and overall you get excellent value for money even from the inexpensive hotels in Pattaya.
Pattaya also has luxury hotels and resorts including the famous Dusit resort Pattaya, the Marriott resort Pattaya, the Pattaya Sheraton. The Hard Rock Hotel is justly famous as a great place to stay in Pattaya. There are also countless holiday and vacation hotels, the Ambassador City at Jomtien is claimed to be the world's largest hotel, well at least one of the largest.
I have always had good service from hotels in Pattaya and so whatever your hotel budget you are certain to find a great choice of resorts and hotels in Pattaya Thailand.

"Pattaya Beaches"

Pattaya is a large city, is is not a small place ! There is a beach that runs along the front of Pattaya and there are also beaches both north and south of the busy central area of Pattaya.
