My page on Pattaya. This will give you a bit jaded, but true look at this city. If I were bringing kids to Thailand I woud go somewhere else, near Puket or maybe some of the Islands. While there are things for kids to do, Pattaya is rather seedy and the beach is terrible. I will not go in the water there. If you really want to go there, stay in Jomtien. It is nearby, but better atmosphere and beach. You can catch a Baht Bus to Pattaya.

Jomtien Beach is better atmosphere and everyting for u and childern but it far Pattaya Beach but not problem for u right? So Nirvana Boutique Suites Hotel Pattaya I recommend this here because the hotel was very nice perfect for family or couple. Price room is acceptable.

The places you can visit with your children such as
Underwater World Pattaya
Nong Nooch Tropical Garden

There are plenty but is depends how much you want to spend. Pattaya is a city with beaches so lots to do, redstaurants, shopping and plenty of attractions. The majority of visitors to Pattaya are in fact Thai and it gets busy with weekend visitors. The A-One cruise hotel is good, designed as a cruise liner, opposite busy part of the beach, there are also very nice places at Naklua North Pattaya or south of Pattaya City at Jomtien Beach. Belle Villa Cabana is also nice.
We really need to know your budget, though Pattaya hotels are very good value.

HI Sunbeam Hotel Very nice hotel, located 10 win walk from Walking street, and 2 min walk from beach in Soi 8. All facilities within walking distance ie restaurants, internet, holiday booking places. As for the hotel and room it was fine, a clean bed/bathroom in a good location.

Travel Tips for Pattaya

Visit the Big Buddha

by austarman

This Buddha image is very big and quite impressive too.
I found it very interesting as I watched the locals, to see what the local customs where in regards to how the Buddha is worshiped with flowers, gold leaf, prayers, incense etc..
You can walk around the temple complex and just absorb the peaceful atmosphere.
There is also a great view of Pattaya city near here which is directly north of this point.

Pattaya is all about nightlife

by bmiller39 about Bamboo lounge

There are so many possibilities with a varied nightlife..The southern end of the city is where it is..bars, shows, reviews, clubs, and other places that offered things to do..The city has a large gay section which is populated by transvestites called katoys in the local language. I can't give you any information other than to say that there are night club tours that can show you the sights. I pretty well only went to two places:
The Mon Cherie bar which is not far from General Sole hotel..lots of ex pats from many countries..so a great chance to converse in English..good place to get your bearings and make plans from there...a really good seafood restaurant next door called the Savoy plus a very inexpensive hotel about 600 baht which includes, refrigerator, cable, etc..convenient...

The bamboo lounge was the place of choice in the evening..two dynamite bands..one european..German I think from the accents and the other Thai..they were both outstanding..large dancefloor..an absolute fun time. It doesn't start hopping until about 2300...drinks are very inexpensive and service is good anything..no restrictions

Hot Food & Cool Jazz

by johnaalex about PIC Kitchen

**UPDATE** January 2011. A friend and I went to PIC Kitchen last night and decided not to stay for a meal. The air conditioned area was closed and there were not many other customers in the outer area. Definitely not as busy as it used to be and it had an air of a place that is suffering from lack of customers. Of course the food maybe as good as it used to be, but we decided not to try.

In a quite Soi at the north end of the bay this is one of the oldest restaurants town serving good quality Thai food in air conditioned rooms, or outside if you want. They also have one room where you can sit on the floor in traditional Thai Style – I prefer tables and chairs. There is also the Jazz Club which is in a separate building within the grounds. In keeping with the other buildings the club is built almost entirely of wood in traditional Thai style and a very nice place to relax after a fine meal. There is live music every night, the line up depends on who is in town. The spicy beef salad, satay and the Thai curries. Good quality ingredients and authentic recipes.
