The Sheraton Resort Pattaya is one of the top hotels in the Pattaya area offering luxurious accommodation. The rooms are very well appointed and comfortable with typical Sheraton high standards. The restaurants, swimming pool and facilities at the Sheraton Pattaya are what you would expect from a 5 star hotel resort. The Sheraton Pattaya is located in a quieter area of Pattaya but it is easy to reach both Pattaya City and also Jomtien Beach.
The Sheraton is ideal if you want a 5 star hotel in a quieter part of Pattaya.

Going the extra mile at the Sheraton, Pattaya

by TripAdvisor Member Edinburghsupergirl

Jane, Edinburgh

We stayed at the Sheraton for a few days before heading off to a wedding up country. I wanted a flower corsage for my hair but couldn't get what I needed in town. The hotel very kindly asked their floral stylist to help me at the last minute and he produced a beautiful orchid clip for me at no charge in a matter of a sealed box so that it would travel well! (complete with fake pearls and shiimmer I should add!)

It was a great example of an establishment going the extra mile to help one of their guests and I was really impressed. I can also highly recommend the restaurant and beautiful sea view from the outside bar. We would definitely stay there again and really enjoyed our trip to Pattaya with such a welcoming place to arrive back at, at the end of the day.

sheraton is almost perfect

by TripAdvisor Member laallee

just completed 16 nights in the sheraton pattaya and it was pretty good. we stayed in an ocean front pavillion which was ideal.
we booked direct with the hotel and got a free upgrade and a good rate and the emails were prompt and courteous.
the hotel is in a nice location with a quiet and cosy atmosphere, however should you want the bright lights of pattaya its only 5 minutes and 200 baht away - best of both worlds.
good restaurants and bars are all close by which is good as the hotel choice appears limited after a few days, however the service is very good personal.
its the 2nd time ive stayed here and ill probably be back next year.
its smaller and more attentive than the royal cliff so its my preference, we did dine at the cliff 3 times as its only a 10 minute stroll away so everything was perfect.
a special mention to nampon, montree, adul and pansorn for looking after all 10 of us by the pool.

The best hotel ever!!!

by TripAdvisor Member olliwi

We stayed at the Sheraton Pattaya for 10 days in January/February 2007 and booked the stay via Starwood points. Upon arrival we were informed that we had been upgraded from a regular garden view room to a Deluxe Pavilion. O.K., as a Starwood Platinum Member I somewhat hoped for an upgrade, but as these are always subject to availability, I was pleasantly surprised. Even more so, they informed us that we got free breakfast as well!!! What more can I say?

The room was absolutely amazing! Huge bathtub, separate shower and toilet and very nice decoration. We got a basket of fresh fruit every day and upon arrival we were greeted with a bottle of red wine.

The resort has a total of 4 restaurants: Elements (in the main building, where breakfast is served), Mez, Infinity and Latitude (in the beachfront building, the latter being more a cocktail bar than a restaurant with happy hour between 5 and 7 p.m.). I cannot agree with other comments here that the food in the restaurants is extraordinarily expensive. Prices are o.k., although you might probably find cheaper places in downtown Pattaya, and the quality of the food is excellent.

The Latitude Lounge was almost empty all the time and it is a pity that the hotel management does not offer any evening activities (e.g. BBQ on the beach etc.) there in order to attract more hotel guests.

The three pools are very well maintained and the service there is also fantastic (thanks again to the poolboys Nampon, Adul and Montree!!!) You get fresh water and cool towels all the time and they even prepared the same sunlounger for us every day!

Overall, one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. If you do not like Pattaya and don't want to get in touch with the city itself and all its downsides at all you can still visit the Sheraton and just do not leave the resort for your entire stay! There’s no need to!

Fabulous As Usual

by TripAdvisor Member livingitlarge

Just back from our third stay at this great resort.

Whilst Pattaya is basically a huge bar/brothel with an awful beach, this resort is well away from that and you really don't have to leave the resort if you don't want to.

This time we were given a gorgeous garden view room on the right hand side of the resort, but the left hand side seems to be a little better.

The staff are always so friendly. Not one will pass you without saying hello or smiling.

Great breakfast buffet selection and I particularly love the chef who makes up your eggs any way you like them - the omlettes are lovely. Had a burger at Infiniti for lunch and it was HUGE - could have shared it between two - but it was scrumptious. Had room service for the first time and the fried chicken with garlic and pepper was out of this world (you have to order steamed rice seperately though).

There's a great restaurant called Mantra at the opposite end of the bay which is fab for dinner. A ride on one of the taxi-buses outside should cost no more than 150 baht (bargain them down in a friendly way, they know they're still making a killing from us farangs).

Thai's send to stay away from Pattaya (they call it "Sin City") unless they live there or are there to make money from farangs. Walking Street is crawling with foreign men, either in groups or alone, looking for bars and girls - probably not a place you'd take children, especially late in the evening.

The resort is fabulous though and I'd certainly go back in an instant.

I the second time have stopped in this hotel. It is still fine hotel, one of the best in Pattaya. Though no more wasn't felt that enveloping warm and friendly atmosphere, as for the first time. But restaurant Mez definitely became very good, even perfect

Best pools, nice food and lovely rooms

by TripAdvisor Member Zukofski

This hotel is really lovely. The rooms, gardens and pools are very nicely designed and everything feels new or very well maintained.

The food prices were what you would expect at a resort, not super cheap, but reasonable considering the food was very nice and the setting is perfect. Another travellers tip to bring your own drinks and snacks was great, as we picked up some duty free wine at the airport and really saved money that way, as the drinks are overpriced (and they make terrible cocktails). The buffet breakfast is fantastic, and is more than enough to keep you going through until dinner.

The restaurant/bar down by the beach really lacks atmosphere, but the main buffet restaurant and the poolside cafe are both great. Either way, it's great to have a lot of choice.

We were disapointed that although Starwood Gold members we weren't given any privileges because the hotel was fully booked - however the hotel didn't feel crowded and there was always space by the pool.

Our only real gripes with the hotel was the lack of activities, it was very hard to find out what attractions were nearby and how we could get there (surely they could be more helpful to arrange a snorkelling trip?) The hotel was also most unhelpful with airport transfers, providing no other options than the super expensive hotel limos. We found it very easy to organise transport at the airport, there are big counters with cars to pattaya for 2,600batt but we found an independant car for 2000. To return we contacted a travel agent that advertised in one of the free magazines in the hotel room and got a return trip for 1500batt... a whole lot better than the hotel's 5000batt offer!

If the hotel wasn't in Pattaya i would go back again - however Pattaya isn't really a very nice place.

Is this a Sheraton Hospitality?

by TripAdvisor Member panon

First time there last weekend (6-7 July), very disappointing. The management fails to comply with the standard of a 5-star hotel they usually vow.

I reserved 2 adjoining ocean-view twin rooms requesting an easy access (i.e. elevator); for my mom who is a senior with walking/climbing difficulty. This kind of rooms is the only available type for my mom because they do not provide any wheel chair access to garden-view, deluxe, or even villa rooms. The 3rd-floor rooms were confirmed [--] according to the above information 2 weeks before check-in date.

At noon of July 6, I called the guest service to check the rooms and time. To my surprise, the check-in time is 3 pm, which is unusual for a common Thailand hotel (might be because this is not a common hotel!). We therefore spent the waiting time hanging around in Pattaya city, until 1:44 pm a hotel staff called to inform that there was one ocean-view room available for us and the other room will be ready in no more than an hour. I thanked her but chose to wait until 3:30 pm when we reached the hotel.

There before us, crowded checking-in at the lobby caused no place to sit even for my mom (with a walking stick). A staff later put us on the process, but found no available reserved-type rooms. We then were assigned to (an upgrade) another type of rooms, which they called a deluxe type. We were taken on a golf car to the rooms which look like a 2-floor house-building, 4 rooms in each, our rooms sit back to back with each other. And again to our (unfortunate) discomfort;

1. One room is still on the cleaning process
2. Lot of steps to the room caused my mom to finally climb down (and later…up for every activity)

A staff took my brother and I to another duplex they thought would be vacant to move in while my mom and sister waited at their room. She opened the door of a duplex to find out there’s still in use by another guest. We puzzlingly drove back and waited 20 more minutes in front before my brother and I could freely use our room (it was already 4:40 pm).

Our issue indicates that the Sheraton system here at Pattaya is a failure. Our special request booking has been ignored and their words on phone cannot be trusted, even though it’s their call, not ours.

If you have a disable or a handicap, this place is definitely not for your group. They do not provide any wheelchair access to rooms or even to the beach. Not only that you have to call for an electric cart for pick up, you still have to use the stairs every time you step to or from the room to get to the main walkway.

This is totally a construction plan and the management problem. The Thai law and regulations may not be strict enough to force the hotel owner to prepare a handicap access, but to the Sheraton standard this is not to happen at all.

Sheraton Pattaya -- need to hire a car?

by Yammi123

Hi All,

We will be staying in Sheraton Pattaya and it supposed to be a little away from town. Are taxi readily available in town to go back to the hotel even late at night? How much should we expect to pay? Or should we hire a driver for the day so we don't have to worry about not being able to get taxi on the streets? Also, can anyone recommend a nice spa in town? Any other suggestions to activities/restaurants would be appreciated.

Thanks for any input!

Re: Sheraton Pattaya -- need to hire a car?

by SirHalberd

You are a little away from the more common tourist areas.

The Marriott is a little more in the center or closer to popular areas.

The most common form of transportation is by BAHT BUS. A baht bus is a pick up truck with seats in back. When you are not around an expensive hotel the price is 10 baht for a set ride. At the hotel, unless the hotel provides free rides, you will probably have to negotiate the price. In town wave a moving baht bus down, don't talk to the driver, hop on, they drive a set route - push the buzzer over the seats and get out. Pay driver 10 baht only! When you talk to these guys and tell them where to go then you pay a price that you bargain for.

There are several good modern malls in the Pattaya/Jomtien area. Three movie theaters now. Lots of restaurants from artsy fartsy places to simple McDonalds/Burger King franchises. You won't starve.

Ordinary hotels with air, hot water, TV, private toilet/bath, security box and refrigerator can be found in the 500 baht range. Besides the Marriott Google up the Arecca Lodge for a more centrally located hotel if interested.

The Sheraton is a nice hotel, a little too far from things for me.

Thanks for your advice! But we are set on Sheraton already as it seems like the nicest hotel in the area. So, please advise on transportation to and from town. Thanks again.

Sheraton is the best hotel in Pattaya without doubt, you can walk about 15 minutes to south Pattaya, with a new way between the hill, i just made it 2 weeks ago.
