Giving back to the Community
by Ike_2005
While we were all in Pattaya our ship arranged for volunteers to go to Chanthaburi (approximately 2 hours South East from the port in Sattahip) to paint a school and take a tour of one of the local gem factories. I was happy to do my part to make Thailand a little better of a place. I had such a good time in Pattaya Beach that I figured I owed the community a little bit of payback.
Bus To Pattaya
by Wann
You can take bus to Pattaya from both Terminal in Bangkok ; Eastern Bus Terminal (Akkamai) or Mochit Bus Terminal. Many buses leave from Bangkok daily and some ride through Chonburi Province and some just faster ride through The Motorway. Sorry I can’t remember the ticket fare but it's cheap. When you arrive at Pattaya bus terminal, must to take local bus there to central of the city.
Belgain food in Pattaya
by filipdebont about Patrick's Belgain Restaurant & Cafe
The owner of this Belgian restaurant is Belgian (of course). His name is Patrick and he is from Gent. He is living in Pattaya for many years, When I first met him, he had a beer bar / restaurant in Soi Yamoto. But since a few years he has a beautiful restaurant in the Bavaria In walking street, the restaurant has a covered terrace.
If you are tired eating rice and noodles for several weeks, this is the place to be.
Patrick serves fine European dishes and the best Belgian (Flemish) dishes like Belgian beef stew (prepared with dark beer, onions and herbs) 220, delicious Flemish Goulash, Meatballs in tomato sauce (like mama makes them), Gentse Waterzooi (Flemish chicken casserole), Rabbit stew Flemish style (with prunes, vegetables and dark beer - grandma style).
Let’s not forget the hmmmmm juicy big tender steaks (more then 300 gr) with different herbs and sauces. With BELGIAN Fries . . . . .
Let’s forget our diet . . . . . A big steak (300 gr) with mushroom sauce and Belgian fries and mayonnaise
Wat Yansangwararam, Pattaya
by Wann
Wat Yansangwararam or Yansangwararam Temple, is 15 Km. south of Pattaya City, turning left from Sukhumvit Highway at Km.160. The temple was dedicated to Somdet Phra Yanasangwon, the present Supreme Pariarch in 1976 and was later graciously admitted under the patronage of His Majesty the King. The temple ground, a total area of 146 acres, comprises a mondop (four gable pavilion) which enshrines a replica of the Buddha's footprints, a large stupa where the relics of the Lord Buddha and those of the Lord Buddha's disciples are enshrined. There are Phra Yanaretwihan and international pavilion representing several countries throughout the ground.

"One day for Pattaya"
Rental a van to Pattaya, we were 4 adults and 4 children cost 4,000 Baht starting from hotel at 10 am till 8 pm. It took about 3 hours drive from Bangkok city to Pattaya. But it was pity that the driver can only understand some English.
Okay, we started our journey.. directly to Pattaya 3 hours means arrive at 1 pm
we were hungry and asked him to stop on the seafood restaurant .. but because of misunderstanding he took us to the Pattaya cultural village .. yeah everybody was complaining ... " we are hungry ".
Finally we got also a delicious sea food restaurant .. recommended by the driver but price was expensive.. but it was okay..
Pattaya, what I saw is about beach.. shopping and shopping.. restaurant everywhere.. compare with Phuket.. Pattaya is nothing to see... maybe for someone like the nightlife, the sexy dancing and so on it could be great
but for us , we were with our sons it was not a suitable place .. then we came back to Bangkok.
Pink color... nice for photo ... Pattaya ...
