Sweets For Your Sweet!
by RoyJava
Probably you cannot find the sweet stuff or Khawng Wáan in traditional Thai restaurants. When the Thai menu refers to "Dessert" it will refer to all foods whose primary flavour characteristic is sweetness. Thai people do eat the sweet stuff as between-meal snacks, mostly already prepared and sold by market or street vendors.
Thai love to bring these Khawng Wáan as presents when visiting somebody. These include grated coconut, coconut milk, rice flavour, cooked sticky rice, tapioca, mung-bean starch, boiled taro, fruits. For crunchy stuff some may contain fresh corn kernels, sugar-palm kernels, lotus seeds, chopped water chestnuts, cooked black beans.
I LOVE all the sweet stuff, especially wrapped in banana or pandan leaves! And those beautiful, strong colours... magnificent!

Don't miss the fresh seafood
by bmiller39 about the walking street and waterfront
Generically, the restaurants in Pattaya are all international..lots of Italian, and heavy on the German..this is because (I assume) the large number of European visitors particularly German. The seafood restaurants all have fresh fish and lobster tanks and a tremendous variety of local seafood which is reasonably priced and fantastic. The choices are endless..you can preview the restaurants by walking through and looking at the tanks and displays.. Lobster and prawn..the prawn are about 15 inches in length and really huge..this is really a speciality in Thailand..I took a few pictures which don't do justice..
