Jomtien Beach Thailand
by sarahreynold about Beach close to Bangkok
Jomtien Beach is located just past Pattaya, to the South East of Bangkok. The modern expressway takes just under 2 hours to reach the hotels and resorts at Jomtien Beach. Much quieter than it's sister resort of Pattaya Jomtien has a large number of hotels and accommodations ranging from small guesthouses and budget hotels through to luxury hotels and beach resorts. There are plenty of restaurants and local shops plus a nearby hypermart. Pattaya is within 20 minutes for more shopping and lively nightlife. There is a good choice of Jomtien Beach hotels from inexpensive to luxury hotels. Jomtien Beach offers great value for money, it is cheap to get there from Bangkok by bus or taxi and once in Jomtien you will find restaurants and accommodation both 'cheap'. The beaches should not be compared with those of a tropical island, but you can find beachspace and plenty to keep you occupied. You can travel furthert along the coast to Koh Samet and Koh Chang, overall a good value for money holiday in the sun in Thailand.
Direct acess to the beach
by Pimilan about Birds and Bee formerly Cabbages and condoms
Exclusive hotel in Jomtien beach with direct acess on the beach. Different building on the really nice garden, good service and of course a condom under the pillow.
Marvellous swiming pool and superb restaurant even is a little bit windy. Direct acess to the beach by stairs, exclusive suites right on the beach, good securities, great view from the impressive pool.
Pattayas convention hotel
by bradbeaman about Ambassador City Jomtien
I have stayed here twice at convention type meetings. With over 4,210 rooms occupying 40 acres of prime beachfront, the Ambassador City Jomtien Hotel is worldwide recognized as one of “The Largest Resort Complexes” being set amidst magnificently landscaped tropical splendor by tranquil, unspoiled private beach. Yet, only ten minutes from the international playground of Pattaya, the fascinating tourist destination in Thailand
Relax without Pattaya hassles
by JuanD about Our Place
First a bit off topic, Our Place is in Jomtiem, not Pattaya. Jomtiem is the smaller, better sister city of Pattaya. A better beach scene, more laid back, less crowded (I was there during the off season) and in this traveller's opinion, a better choice. And still just a 40 baht bus trip from South Pattaya.
Back to Our Place. Our Place is a sweet cozy guesthouse just south of central Jomtien. Not sure how long it has been there, but everything seems new and squeaky clean. Philip, who I took to be a Brit and Tip, who I assumed was a local run the place. The rest of the staff is the usual local Thai, which is to say beautiful and friendly if not perfect English speakers. Of course their English is much better than my Thai.
The entire staff will bend over backwards to help you. They have much local knowledge and are more than willing to share. The food was excellent, reasonably priced and the green curry was other worldly good. Chang beer on tap was one of the coldest beers I've found in SEAsia.
My only niggles - the floor in our room had a slightly sticky film on it, as if they used a liquid floor cleaning product on it and did not rinse afterwards. I'm sure they would have fixed this had I asked, but I could never seem to remember to ask when I got downstairs to reception. Maybe those beautiful Thai smiles just made me forget all my worries. The other slight negative, no freebie soap/shampoo, and while I don't expect that in a guesthouse, it is a touch I like so I can pack my bag before I shower on the day I leave.
All this for 700 baht a night, which seemed to be the going rate in that area of town.
To sum up, I'd highly recommend Our Place in Jomtien. Jomtien offers everything Pattaya offers but without the crowds and hassles and Our Place is a great place to stay while you enjoy it. A very cool ?cockatoo? named Charlie.
Our room was large by guesthouse standards, king size bed with typically SEAsia firm mattress. It contained a somewhat tacky vinyl covered sofa, two nice swivel chairs, lots of counter space to put your junk on, a decent wardrobe and an in room safe. Two bath and two hand towels, a hot water kettle with cups and a large window with a view of the street below and the building across.
Quiet place & friendly staff
by zazatann about Casa Lucerna guest house
Tappraya Road is at Tappraya hill, the south area of Pattaya beach. Here is small but nice and clean room for you. I like this place because it’s big room, new and clean with cool a/c especially really reasonable price.
If you don’t mind to be a little away from the noisy of bars area, this place is a good one to have your very own privacy.
Staffs in this place are very helpful and friendly. You will feel like staying at your close friend’s house.
(Need to make a reservation, please contact me) quiet area without traffic and easy to get to both beach; Pattaya and Jomtien.
Jomtien Beach -- Clean and Beautiful Sandy Stretch
by volarevolare about Pinnacle Golden Beach Resort
I booked the Pinnacle Golden Beach Resort but was disappointed by its standard room which was house in a four storey walk-up block and was really small and basic.
The hotel's really old too and not very well kept.
But if you're looking for a budget place to stay and don't mind very basic room facilities, then you'd be fine with this place. At USD 25 a night, this room is equipped with a queen sized bed, air-conditioning, a basic shower bathroom and a small TV. We were given a room on the 2nd floor and it had a small balcony overlooking the pool and beach with one plastic chair.
I was quite shocked at the condition of this place -- it looked uninhabitated but for the 3 persons in the pool. It was really quiet and a bit unkept. It shares the same operator as the Pinnacle Resort & Club which we eventually went to stay at.
Located just about 200 meters away, this Resort & Club is where guests at the Golden Beach will walk to for breakfast.
It might be a short walk away, but it's a world of difference!
Jomtien
by jamiesamui
This is the main road along the front of the beach but being Australian this to me doesn`t classify as a beach.
"Paving"
This is a pic of the locals on a Saturday morning paving the walkway along the beach.
It was all hands on as the age range of the helpers was 6 to 60.
This pic is of the deckchairs that are for hire all the way along the beach front with the obligatory local selling a range of products including icecreams.
The beach being cleaned & raked & a shot of the skyline further south where there are some nice resorts & condominiums

Does anybody know something more about this place? Is that good choice for 2-weeks holiday?

Pattaya/Jomtien Beach:
Personally, I can't think of many places I'd rather NOT spend two-weeks.

If I have the right hotel in mind, this doesn't seem to be to bad, however, it depends on what you intend to do.
You are not exactly close to some of the popular tourist haunts in Pattaya. If you intend to only stay around the hotel for 2 weeks then it is okay. If you intend to go into the touristy part of Pattaya pretty often then you have to rely on some transportation like baht buses or motorcycle taxis.

If you intend to swim at the beach all the time then Jomtien is the better choice because tourists usually don't SWIM at Pattaya Beach! Sunning and walking and shopping is okay there though!
There are other hotels closer to the (Pattaya) Beach Road and Pattaya 2nd Road that allow you to walk to many places a little easier. A lot of the tourist areas can be found off Walking Street (South Pattaya) and Pattaya 2nd Road on up to North Pattaya Road.
One good thing is that transportation is pretty cheap no matter where you stay when compated to Europe or N. America.
