Ao Manao beach, a few kms south of Prachuap Khir Khan, positively impressed me, as I love hot weather and the burning sun on my skin.
Around midday it becomes like a furnace, as it is very well sheltered, and the shallow sea water becomes also quite warm, even hot.
Prachuap Khiri Khan is a coastal province in Thailand. Located south of Phetchaburi and north of Chumhon Provinces.
The most well know part of the province is Hua Hin.
The province stretches along the coast from Hua Hin through Pak Nam Pran, Pranburi, the Sam Roi Yot National Park area south towards Chumphon.
The area along the coast is well served by a dual highway and also a railway line with frequent trains herading north to Bangkok and South to Surat Thani, Hat Yai and across into Malaysia.
Apart from well known Hua Hin, the provincial towen of Prachuap Khiri Khan ( about 100 km / 60 miles ) south of Hua Hin is set in a truly amazing location. The town has been called a mini Rio, not for the excitement, prachuap Khiri Khan as a town is very quiet indeed, but for the amazing mountains on the coast both north and south of the town. Amazing hilltops temples looking out to see are picturesque and the subject of some of the finest photographs of Thailand you could imagine.
A day trip from Hua Hin is highly recommended, the trip can include the famous Sam Roi Yot National Park. You can travel by road but also there is the rail line, though the train does take rather a long time.
