I am traveling once again to Loei this year and always like to stay at guest houses rather than hotels. Years back I remember staying at Mr Dums guest house and wonder if it is still in existence. If not can anyone recomend a guest house to stay at.
My friend always stays at Phu Luang Hotel which he says is a bit rough some have been renovated (twin beds), 400ish.
King Hotel is recommended as it has a restaurant downstairs for about 500 baht.
Loei Palace is the upmarket hotel.

Heading East from Wang Saphung is Phu Luang and the Phu Luang National Park. Here the are some marvellous rock formations and small peaks. According to what I was told they are called the 'China Mountains' by the locals. There is one that appears to have a hole through the middle.There is a waterfall further on where all the rocks have a cream colour.
The Saying about Phu Kra Dueng says that "This place is for men and women who want to proof what real love is." Most of people belive so....Well, I would like to offer this place. *** This place is suitable for climber... *-*
These are my good friends at a college. This was the first trip that we decided to go to the mountain. When we tried to go up to the top of the mountain we felt like to give up, it was too exhausted.

We spent about a day walking up there and when we got to the straight way, I thought "Wow!!!! We made it!" But no, I was wrong. We had to walk to the accomodation around 3 more kms. After that we visited to a few places around the moutain. We had fun at there.

The last day of the trip, when we got down to the bottom, not just me that said "I won't definitely come back here" It is not suitable for us.. But I confirm that "This place is really wonderful" ....
Location: Loei Province
If you would like to relaxing...this is the best place. Not crowded, not much to do..jus! relax...on the banks of the Mae kong river. You can also walk on the banks. Nice view...lot of guest houses available on the banks...not costly...foods are good.
Don't miss if you just need a RELAX.
