Old shophouses in city area
As the old and important city, you can find so many shophouses in old style. Some built from wood and some built from plaster decorated with stucco.Unluckily, some have changed to be a new shop by refurnishing.

Subdistrict Nonsombun

Province Nakorn Ratchasima

Also, what other fun activites are near this address for a young child 5 years old?
Thank you!
Nakon Ratchasima is also known as Korat or even Khorat.
I have been there but never visited the zoo. Look up Phimai. Phimai is a small town around an hour from Korat. At that town they have a nicely restored temple, the Phimai Wat. Also a decent museum. Same town claims to have the largest banyan tree in Thailand. You can walk through it, etc. If you want a fairly quiet place to visit Phimai will do. You can take a cheap bus to Phimai if you want from the bus station near the Big C.

There is a nice mall at Korat, maybe you can find something there for the kid to do.
Good luck.
Hi Korat was the town and also mean Nakhon ratchasima which is the province. So Korat zoo is the same place as Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo.

Thao Suranaree Park was developed by EGAT (Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand). The park has an area of 76 rai. It is a beautiful recreational park, a great view point north of Lam Takhong Dam and a car rest area. It is on Highway No. 2 (Saraburi-Nakhon Ratchasima). Mostly people who travel to northeastern region stop by there and also locals come for relaxing. The park located beside the Highway No.2 between the 193-194km markers.
The oldest national park in Thailand. The national park is located not so far from Bangkok, around 3 hours drive from Bangkok or 45 min. drive from central of Nakhon Ratchasima. The National Park cover the area of 4 provinces; Nakhon Ratchasima, Prachenburi, Nakhon Nayok and Saraburi.
Khao Yai National Park nowadays is so famous, there are many range of trails in different kind of destinations, shortest and easiest is around 800 m to see small waterfall, 13 hiking trails (1-8 km), some trekking trails (2-4days) and birding trails.
I drove around in the area, very convenience, good road, many routes all around the park so it is easy to know there in roughly by driving around. Some attractions can get by driving to, such as Haew Suwat Waterfall but some need to walk only to.
There are some houses for rent to stay over night in the area and the park provide the area for camping, visitors can bring own tents or rent them there. I visited the park on weekend and be able to see how much popular of the place, so crowded, the area of campsites full of colurful tents.
You can see more detail of the national park at Ban Khao Yai page.
