Very nice hotel
Stayed at room 801 from 8 May to 21 May 08. The room was spacious, functional and clean. The hotel is safe and the staff are very pleasant. The location is unbeatable in Korat. 5 min walk to Big C (hypermarket with a small food court), 3 min walk to 7-11 (use back door through carpark) and 5 min tuk tuk to THE MALL.
The massage place is 1 min walk away (additional 100 Baht for house call) and there are two drinking place, one just next to hotel building and the other is BARnana (Disco). All within the safety of hotel compound.
Hotel is family run and you can see the Boss and his family going about the hotel everyday.
The gym and pool could do with a bit of upgrade but I do have high demand and expectation of pool and gym as I use them regularly.
Overall, value for money and a safe havean after a tiring day
Unique Quality: Great location

Good Medium Standard Hotel
Although maintained to a good standard the hotels interiors are rather faded. Despite this the Rachaphruk Hotel does have many good points and these include its great location, not far (10-15 minutes walk) from Khorat’s huge shopping emporium “The Mall” and 10 minutes walk to “Big C” supermarket. The bus station is close by. The ‘Night Bazaar’ is about 1.5kms away but I thought that it was disappointing.
The staff at the Rachaphruk Hotel were very efficient and extremely friendly which was a very welcome feature of such a reasonably priced hotel (Superior Room B1200.00, Deluxe (Larger) room B1400.00 including breakfast and no + +). Haggle on the rate of course. All the staff that I came into contact with appeared to be genuinely conscientious and enjoying their work.
The hotel is very clean indeed and although a lot of the fixtures and fittings in the superior rooms are old and worn they are maintained well (everything works). The air conditioning works almost too well! Satellite TV reception is good and offers about 60 channels in a variety of different languages. The beds are comfortable but unusually low. The bathroom was exceedingly clean and stocked with all the usual necessities.
The inclusive breakfast served from 06.00 until 10.00 was not great. The ‘orange juice’ and egg mixture for omelettes, etc. appeared to be watered down and generally it was difficult to find something that looked appetising. There’s Chinese, Thai, Western and other hybrid offerings but nothing that looked very appealing.
If you want a reasonably priced, efficiently run hotel without many frills The Rachaphruk Grand Hotel is a good choice and I’d certainly stay there again although you may want to consider the Sima Thani if you plan to spend a significant amount of time in your hotel. It’s a little further away from the centre of town but not that far.
Unique Quality: Great Location for shopping and sightseeing. Most rooms have good views over Khorat. Good facilities, well run, busy hotel.

Good view of the town and good for a transit
I was on my work trip and had to stay at this hotel for few days. My room at 8th floor provided a great view of the town, room was nice, clean and service was good. The hotel is close to both Bus terminals so it also a good stay for a transit in case you need to travel out visiting attractions around the province in the next day. Its just 5 min walk to the old bus terminal in town. You also can walk from hotel to central of the town or take a tuk tuk to The biggest departmentstore, "The Mall", take around 10-15 min. I think this hotel is fine, may not excellent as Sima Thani or Royal princess but the location is just better.
