A good and reliable company is Budget. You may book in advance by www.budget.co.th. You my book the van for your whole stay, so you may drive indipendently from tourist company. Remember that accomodation in Khao Yai are often not so near to a villages or National Park or site of tourist interest and you have to rely over hotel transportation, often not so cheap. In some occasion it's possibile to hire a car by Budget and living it in a different place from the start, but I don't know if it's possible for Kao Yai, you have to ask. You have a 3° option: Budget hire a car with a driver to and from some sites. The better thing you have to do is contanct them on their website and ask for price or special services. I'm sorry for my bad english and I hope I have given some help. If you go to Pakchong, remeber that you are very near to Korat: visit Phimai, It's a wonderful experience!

u need to catch taxi to downtown and go to Huaqlamphong train station. All trains going from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani stop at Pak Chong. Departures at Bangkok’s Hua Lamphong Station more than 5 times daily trip. Fare (excluding surcharges for rapid or express trains and aircon) is 36 Baht for 3rd class, 74 Baht for 2nd class and 146 Baht for 1st class. The rail distance is 180km.The journey maybe take 3.5 hours.

U also can take bus from Bangkok to Pak Chong, which leaves from the Northern Bus Terminal(khampengpet rd). An air-conditioned bus is usually around 65 baht to Pak Chong.

Hi,
we went from the northern bus terminal, bus was fine air con, reclining seats,
depending on traffic, and there is at times a lot of it, two and a half to three and a half hours, cant remember exactly but between 100 and 150 bhart.
buses are suppose to run every 30 min. we did'nt book we just pitched up bought a ticket. we went khao yai nat. park which was very good and popped in to pak chong a couple of times, market was ok and the foods good.
have a nice trip.
Phil.
