I did not stay here. Nest 1 is far from nest 2 around 1 kilometre. This place has western food service. Cooking by Thai owner, Wicha, who studied and trained at Europe. So if you stay at nest 2, try to have lunch or dinner here.

I specially flew from Singapore and personally drove over to Chiang Dao Nest 1 & 2 after reading highly rated comments from Bangkok Post, The Nation, Sawadee.com. They praised the serene and beautiful environment of Chiang Dao Nest but highly praised the culinary skills of the chef, Wicha, who is a Thai with 4 years of working experience in UK as chef-de-partie. She cooked fantastic Thai and European crusine in this remote area of Thailand. Many foreign tourists from all over the world or local Thais made their way here to try her cooking and experience the living in this Chiang Dao Nest, at the foot of Doi Chiang Dao (Mount Chiang Dao) which is at 2175m high.
I really enjoyed my 2 nights stay here and especially Wicha's cooking. Its fantastic. 100% worth trying. The rooms are simple but much more cleaner and nicely done than most guesthouses in Thailand. Leave a Comment

As extensive travelers in South East Asia, we stayed twice since January 2008 at the Marisa Resort and Spa and really enjoyed the experience. If you're looking for nightlife, and noisy entertainment this is definitely NOT the place to go. On the other hand, if like us you are tired of the noise and pollution of the bigger cities and looking for a quiet and authentic experience, this is really paradise. The resort is located in a beautiful secluded natural setting, near the city of Chiang Dao, roughly 80 km from Chiang Mai. The resort is really a park, peppered with traditional Thai style wooden buildings that host the guest rooms & villas. Please note that not all rooms are air conditionned....which is Ok during the cool season (as nights DO get fresh here) but might be a bit hard on some visitors in the hot season. Do not expect "sterile" occidental 5 star hotel amenities, but the rooms are comfortable and more than satidfactory. The Resort has a small pool and a spa and a really great restaurant if you want a taste of really traditional thai cooking ! Finally the staff is always friendly and eager to help which more than compensate for a sometimes limited grasp of English. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you want a few days of peace and quiet !
Peace and Quiet in a secluded natural environment. Great as a base for day trips in northern Thailand.
