Luxury House Lanna Style

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on May 20, 2008

We stayed at the Chiang Mai guesthouse for three nights. It was clean and the staff were great - very helpful in organizing our trek and answering all of our questions about Chiang Mai and N. Thailand. The best features of the place are the pool, which is so great in the heat and humidity and the restaurant, which makes great banana pancakes. Each of our two rooms was big and clean and cost us 550 Thai Baht.

Unique Quality: have high-end amenities such as Teak wood furniture, laminated floors, western-style bathrooms, a beautiful swimming pool and a high-speed internet room.

Not a hotel, not an usual Guesthouse...

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)

We stayed at Chiang Mai Thai House for three nights and it was nice. It is a kind of medium thing between a hotel and a guesthouse. It has its own pool, air-conditioned rooms, private bathroom with hot water and, the best of all: it is a brand new place, so furniture or decoration are not worn out at all. Good place to do your laundry: 40 bahts per kilo (60 bahts per kilo if you got your clothes ironed). No elevator, but if you ask at reception desk, they will take your baggage up to your room and down when you leave. They also have a tour desk, but we didnt try it, because we had a Spanish speaker private guide. Ask the staff to write down at the hotel card the name of the wat which is next to the guesthouse, because many songteo drivers dont know the place yet. In spite of it, we came back to the place without major problem every night. The terrasse bar is nice, if you want to have breakfast at the guesthouse, you will have it there.
