Tranquility in the Heart
The rooms were clean w/ A/C, private bath, fridge and two single beds. A nice big garden was just out the front door. Service was excellent!!!! Restaurant was very nice on the river. Very very very relaxing place to stay. No pressure to do anything. And service was outstanding in restaurant and for guest services.
Unique Quality: Great location! Superb service, very quiet. Location was near the night and day market. Just fantastic!

Relaxed accommodation in Chiangmai
There lots of places to stay in CM. Most are pretty boisterous or hotel-like (lobby, elevators, impersonal). The Galare is quiet and comfortable, not rushed. The kind of place you want to linger.
Unique Quality: A/C, lots of wood, very close to night bazaar area without the noise and traffic, overlooking the river.

Tawan Court hotel, Chiang Mai
Hi there, I am planning to spend a month, January 2007 in Chiang Mai, I have been there for 3 times now, but I have 2 accommodation options and I don’t know which one is the best.
First one is Tawan Court hotel, and the 2nd one is People place lodging guesthouse. I prefer to stay within a walking distance of the famous night bazaar, so any one could help me, which one is the best and also closer to night bazaar?

People Place is practically in the Anusarn Market, the food court type area at the S end of the Night Bazaar. So it's the closer of the two.
Tawan Court is about 1 city block away from the North end of the Night Bazaar, so if your happy there it's not that far either.
Galare Guest House is in a pretty garden setting very close to Tawan Court, so that might be a good option too... I believe they charge around 1100 a night but they may have discounts: www.galare.com
