Good 3 star hotel in Chiang Mai

Very comfortable 3 star hotel in Chiang mai, the Maninarakorn. I would reccommend paying the nominal extra THB 150 ( less than US$5 ) for the better rooms. Pleasant breakfast and friendly service.

Unique Quality: Good value hotel in Chiang Mai near the Night Bazaar Market

Comfortable stay

When I made a booking online, I had a rough idea how the room would look like based on the photograph that was shown. When I checked in, they told me my room is on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator. I groaned and regretted making a blind booking without really checking things out.

When the hotel staff shown me the room after walking 2 flights of steps, I was nicely surprised. The room was nicely decorated and it was divided into 3 rooms. One for the bedroom, toilet and a nice hall. I immediately liked the room. I felt comfortable and cozy and forgave the absence of the lift. I later realized that the Hotel's main building had lifts but not in the wing building which I was assigned to. It felt more like a small apartment with all the basic amenities.

Facilities includes wifi Internet which was really necessary, a LCD TV although it could be bigger, a microwave oven and a mini fridge. My only complain is that they didn't have enough racks for hanging clothes in the bathroom.

Maninarakorn Hotel

We stayed at the Maninarakorn Hotel in Chiang Mai for 6 nights and we booked this hotel through Expedia, the full price was $180 which also included breakfast.

So a fantastic rate through Expedia at the time as the terrace room is huge with a separate lounge room.

Location is also good as there is a 7/11, atm, banks, restaurant, travel agents and a tuk tuk stand out the front of the hotel plus it’s only a 5 min walk to the Night Bazaar etc. There is also a local laundry about 2 minutes walk from the hotel.

We caught a meter taxi from the airport to the hotel which only takes 10 minutes and cost us 50baht (plus the 50baht you pay at the taxi desk)
Tapae Gate is also only a 10 min walk away.

Maninarakorn Hotel is on Sridonchai Rd, near the Imperial Mae Ping Hotel

Hi all,
I have been trying to contact this hotel via their website as well as through external email, but no response in 2 weeks? Has anyone had any dealings with them lately? Are they still open??
Thanks,
Linsy

Thai hotels are notorious for their lack of understanding and the importance of email, which many places ignore. You would be better off trying to call them.
