Buy Your Stamps at Chiang Mai Airport
by jmokhlis
Probably the last thing on your mind when you've just arrived but the airport has a post office which is handy for stamps - if u plan to send plenty of post cards home, buy loads of them here when u arrive, saves time looking for a post office when travelling for long periods and when deep in the countryside. Opens normal working hours.

The Riverside: a blast!
by hojasdehierba about Pubs and Bars
We spent our first night at Riverside, because our guide in Chiang Mai asked us if we wanted to join him there that night. We accepted, but in fact we didnt expect too much. Perhaps a good meal and a nice place. But we loved it! We had our dinner on upper floor: we were quite a big group and it was more comfortable. We had shrimp rolls, pad thai and some other things, all of them very good. The whole dinner was about 250 bahts for each person. You can order also Western food at Riverside, and even a couple of Indian specialities. But the best of Riverside are the groups which play there. They are really cool! Good ambience, also, mix of Thai and Western people. We were having so much fun that we stayed till closure time (1,30 a.m., I recall). No problem to get there: every songteo driver knows the place.
Causal
Come for the view and the food

Call ahead if you can and request a table overlooking the river. This is a fun place to go . Lots of after work local crowd and tourists it's very popular. Of course . The food is great and the service friendly
We had been spending everynight roaming around the nightmarket .We were surprised when we crossed the river and went to this place . It is an example of the newer and more modern side of Chiang Mai.
They have dinner cruises leaving from here too. The seabass was great!!
Glorious hilltop Wat
by HasTowelWillTravel
This beautiful Wat, positioned on a hill just outside of Chiang-Mai, is a wonder to behold. The legends surrounding it are great to read about, and the wat itself is beautiful. Arriving there, heading up the long set of stairs (don't take the escalator, it's more fun to march up the stairs) brings you to a wide outdoor space surrounding the wat. Take in the scenery of the valley that nestles Chiang-Mai, look at the details in the architecture and statues that surround the wat. It is an incredible piece of history for the region, and a great day trip from the hustle-bustle of the city.
