More about Sira Boutique Hotel
I recently stayed at the Sira Bouique Hotel - it was great! The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are clean, well kept and decorated to a high standard. The staff are friendly and very helpful, they arranged all our excursions (no pressure to buy) - very good value for money. The location is perfect, within easy reach of everything in the city, and good restaurants right on the doorstep. I cannot give any bad feedback on this hotel, everything about my stay was wonderful, I would recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Chiang Mai. A big thanks to everyone at the Sira Boutique Hotel.
A place with a soul!
This hotel made our one week stay in Chiang Mai fantastic.
When we read about Chiang Mai we realized it became a very commercial place with many bombastic hotels. Sira Boutique Hotel is just the opposite of this. It's outside the over-touristic area, just on the edge of the old city. The street is very busy, but when you step into the hotel you enter another world. The atmosphere in this hotel is a piece of art. It gives you a sense of style and dignity on one hand, and a homey, welcoming humanly feeling on the other. It is beautifully renovated and decorated and very calm and quite. Along with this, the service is extremely helpful and cheerful. People in Chiang Mai in general are very very pleasant, and the workers in this hotel are the top. When I was there I wrote a whole letter to my family just about the wonderful, gentle, intelligent reception girls, the good advice they gave us and especially the way they treated our two young girls.
Breakfast is just perfect and very fresh.
We really enjoyed the location. There are so many beautiful temples in Chiang Mai, but the two which we found most unique and pretty (Wat Lok Molee and Wat Chiang Man) were a short walk away from the hotel. There are also many good restaurants close by. Well, that's true anywhere in Thailand... The night market is a short and cheap tuk-tuk ride away. There is a Seven Eleven almost next door, and also an excellent laundry place not far (when you exit the hotel turn right and walk a few minutes until you reach a street. Turn right again and it will be one of the first places on your left. It's the place that also has internet). BTW, the hotel itself also has excellent laundry service, but more expensive.
Free internet access is great and there are three computers so we always found at least one free. There is also free Wi-Fi connection.
In Sira hotel we really felt there is some magic in the air. I think it was the magic of good will. You can sense that it is not just a business but it was established with a desire to make its guests happy. It's simply an unforgettable place. I've never felt this way about any other hotel before.
We reserved 3 nights and ended up staying 7. All four of us (two adults and two young girls) were really sad to leave. When we reached our next hotel in south Thailand all we wanted is to go back.
I realize that in order to make my review look authentic I must mention the faults of the hotel. So:
* There is no lift in the hotel and there are two rooms on the fourth floor. We stayed on this floor the first 4 nights and had a beautiful room and were happy, but maybe for some people it's a problem. The staff did carry our luggage up on arrival and down when we moved a room, and wouldn't even let us help.
* Well, it was hard to reach the toilet paper in our first room, and even harder to reach the towel hanger in the second. Does it count?
I envy any of you who are headed there!
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The rooms are beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, and very comfortable (if a bit small, but let's face it, how much room do you need to sleep or watch a little television). The staff are helpful and caring (my husband and I slept in one day and missed breakfast and were asked by at least two staff members later in the day if we were OK!). The hotel location is good, away from the noisy nightmarket area and with great views of the moat. There are plenty of bars in the area, and a 7/11 half a minute away, as well as an extensive book and DVD library in the hotel, and free internet access.
The old city is at your fingertip with plenty of wats to explore, and the nightmarket is an easy 40-minute walk away, along the walls of the old city (granted during the day the walk is a bit hot, and the trip can be made in 5-10 minutes by tuk tuk or taxi.
I cannot imagine a better hotel in Chiang Mai for the price.
This was an absolute wonderful stay for us. The staff here made the entire experience worthwhile-- friendly, personalized experience where they knew your name every time you walked in the door. Barbara is a gem-- she helped us plan our whole stay and hooked us up with some great day trips. Also the breakfast was great. One day we needed some cash and the staff even took my friend to bank personally on the back of her motorcycle. The rooms were okay---- the bathrooms needed a little more renovation but it was just fine overall. They had free drinking water which was a plus too. The location was nice as well, a short tuk-tuk ride or walk to wherever you wanted to go. I'd go there again in a heartbeat!
Charming Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is a superb location for anyone visiting Thailand!
Sira Boutique was an excellent choice of hotel, friendly staff, beautiful rooms, ideal location and great advice on where to eat and drink, and trust me there are lots of places to choose from in Chiang Mai! The owner Robb, an English man, told us about some lovely restaurants which I wouldn't have even found, let alone tried. He directed us to a few small restaurants and I am so glad we ate in them, I fell in love with one in particular,"Drink Me", and discovered the tastiest chicken ever!!!!
Sira Boutique was great, free internet access and a DVD library also came in handy! Breakfast was also brilliant, a great way to start each brilliant day in Chiang Mai.
Thanks very much to everyone at Sira Boutique for making my stay really enjoyable!
Highly recommended !!!!
We spent 6 nights at the Sira in February and loved every minute of it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean with ample space for all my girlfriend's luggage! Breakfast was excellent. I would definitely recommend the Sira for your stay in Chiang Mai.
Lovely People-Wonderful Stay
The hotel is a quaint ,quiet property within a short ride of the night market and other local points of interest. We were with friends and occupied both of the Lannai rooms and we were very comfortable.
The staff are termendous and very helpful. The essence of travelling is not sightseeing, but rather the people that you meet. From the owner, Robb, to all of his staff, I can't say enough about their friendliness and assistance. They set up tours, restaurant recommendations and even took us shopping for silk goods. This property is off the beaten path and thus allows for quiet in the hustle of Chaing Mai. Our group still talks about the hotel and we higlly recommend it to other travellers.
Fabulous Hotel in Chiang Mai
Currently staying at this property and loving it!
My boyfriend and I have had a wonderfully relaxing stay at this hotel.
It is impeccably clean and comfortable, the staff are incredibly nice and very informative... Somehow they new our room number when we came down for breakfast and arrived later that day from a walk.
We have used several of the hotels services including their laundry service (clothes done to perfection and smelling wonderful) and the in-room traditional Thai massages (a great experience!).
The breakfasts offer great selection offering healthy choices and tasty ones.
The room is nice and large with a full bathtub.
Also, the free DVD library and free internet are great.
Staying at this hotel has made our visit to Chiang Mai a wonderful experience. Highly recommended for anyone wishing to relax or explore the city extensively.
We stayed at the Sira in March 2008 during a 3 week trip to Thailand. The hotel and staff were really good. The staff were incredibly courteous and extremely helpful, as was Rob who owns the place. The rooms were very nice and clean and the hotel provided free internet and dvd's.
We would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Chiang Mai.
Love the Sira
I stayed at the Sira in April for the 3rd time in the last 6 months and as always my stay was fantastic. The hotel is impeccably clean, the facilities are great and breakfast is lovely.
But the thing that really tops everything off for the Sira is the atmosphere and the friendly and helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble and there is always someone on hand to help you out. Robb the owner and his business partner Barbara have helped me out on numerous occasions to arrange various aspects of my time in Chiang Mai, and without them I would have struggled to do many of these things alone.
I am planning another trip to Chiang Mai soon, and I will be booking in to the Sira again!
