About 1.5 hours from Chang Mai, the resort is small and private. Lanna-Balinese style guest cottages surround breath taking landscape, with lush banana trees, palms, and exotic flowers.
Upon arrival, the staff all from traditional native tribes, serve fresh squeezed carrot juice and offer a warmth that is refreshing coming from the city.
Relaxing on my balcony with a book in hand, I am lulled by the mountain stream that runs through the property. The sound of tinkling glass lingers on the air, as the occasional caw of one of the preening peacocks that make their home on the property.
This resort is small and family owned and the service shows. I felt like part of the family there. Voted by the best Paradise Resort in Thailand by the Thailand Tourist Authority, it has unique qualities that made it worth every dollar spent.
Lanna-Balinese style cottages that over look or sit by the river. One has a beautiful wading pool (Angelina Jolie stayed there).
Gracious staff who do everything from cook breakfast, to give nature hikes into the jungles surrounding the property. They will also arrange transportation to and from Chaing Mai, including driving you to the local snake farms, elephant reserves, and multiple venues for buying native crafts, silver, silk, and carved wood furniture.
The resort comes fully stocked with entertainment (wild). Two peacocks provide hourly shows-preening and frolicing by the river. They also give very early wake up calls.
