Laluna Hotel and Resort: Nice grounds, mediocre room

The hotel grounds, lobby and pool are nice but the room is a major disappointment. New and clean room, but extremely bare and the little decor there is looks like a 1960s American motel: the flower bedspreads and curtains are hideous. Convenient location, decent breakfast, good price.
We stayed for a couple of nights at this lovely hotel, which we found on the 'AsiaRooms' website. It's 4 star rated but was quiet at the time so we got a good rate. The grounds are simply stunning as is the pool area and we loved the quiet spaciousness of this place and we also really warmed to the friendly, helpful staff. Our superior pool view room was spacious, clean and very comfortable although we'd have liked coffee and tea sachets supplied. The hotel's location was good too...in a quiet area but close enough to walk into town to the night market in 15 minutes or easy to catch a tuk tuk as well. We loved the LaLuna and would thoroughly recommned it to anyone.
Great pool and beautifully landscaped grounds/gardens.
