Baan Nam Pai: Great place to realx
Great place- stayed longer than meant too. View of the river in a gorgeous Bamboo Hut. Only problem was the loud frogs at night after a big rainstorm! I was there in low seaons- not sure how busy it would be in high. Did I say cheap? It was about $7 a day!
Nice design with style fake marble in the bathroom and nice pathway between rooms. Nice balcony out front with a mat and cuhsions to relax on. Good curry house accross the street! There is some signs of future construction along the river bank- hope it's not too much.

The Blue House: good temperature accomodation
We stayed here 1 night .
It's a little primitive in sanitary facilities thats why we moved to Baan Nam Pai.
But !!! As the nights get cold and the days very warm in Pai,this place is cool in the daytime and gives an excellent temperature at night to sleep.
If the shower was more "western comfort" this is the best you can get to recover from your trekking adventure !
Unique average temperature you don't get in a hut.
To sleep and to recover from trekking this is the best place.

Charlies House: Cheap option in center of town
On Thanon Rangthiyanon (more or less the main road in town) you will find Charlies House. This is a clean and surprisingly calm place. We had a nice room with big bath room and hot shower. Each room of this category ( they have cheaper ones as well) has a nice terrace like area where you can enjoy their nice courtyard garden.
Staff is friendly. There is almost no place to park a car. So this could be an issue.
Location is great. You have everything in walking distance.

Muang Pai Resort: Muang Pai Resort
Muang Pai Resort is a place of serenity, with rolling mountains and a waterfall, streams and forests. The place for those who love to walk and explore the treasures of north Thailand nature. I think it was about 1000 baht per night (double room).

Thapai Spa Camping: lush gardens and hot mineral baths
It's not a campground but a nice inn/resort with a large garden and 15 rooms in tiny bungalows. All around there are lush gardens with plenty of flowers, a little lake, a river, and a great terrace that serves as a restaurant. There was also a weird looking lizard with a green bosy and a bright blue head in a field: so cute!
hot natural mineral water in the room and wonderful mineral hot water pools outside each block of bungalows. The place is extremely quiet, perfect to recharge your batteries. it's 600 baht for a double

Great view from bamboo hut
Amazing view from my bamboo hut. Very hot during the daytime, but really cold in the night. Don't forget to put on som warm clothing in the night, or ask for an extra blanket.
You have to be a person who is satisfied with minimal facilities. In my hut was only a ven and a bed, that's it. 'This is an ideal place for low budget travelers or bagpackers. I liked to sit on the balconny and enjoy the absolutely breathtaking view. There is a building apart from the hut on the campsite, where you can take a shower and visit the toilet.
Amazing view, nice restaurant, in village center.

The Sun Hut: Relaxing in the Jungle
Located just out of Pai, this is a very beautiful and relaxing place to stay. You can easily spent the whole day here relaxing. The huts are comfortably furnished and well spaced out. In the centre are several pavilions with hammocks and comfy benches and chairs with a fountain. There is a stream near by. The huts vary in size all with individual balconies. Prices range from 350-500. Food and drinks are available. There is a badminton court if you are feeling energetic. The owner is lovely and really helpful. It is a 10-15 minute walk from town and less than 5 minutes by bike.
Very relaxing and comfortable. The whole place is surrounded with all sorts of plants, trees, flowers and wild life.

Tayai?s guesthouse: Tayai's guesthouse
150baht for one person fan room. Very clean, big quiet rooms with running toilet inside (they have smaller ones for a 100baht, skip those), right in the center of town (2 minute walk from everything), nice quiet people (es. young No). Some prefer Bungalows by the river, I didn?t.

Something river... or River View or something,: Gotta love grass
These accomodations were simply grass and bamboo huts, but what more do you need? They were cheap, like 60baht per day, came with great laundry service, were on the river, but most importantly, the Gazeebos in the center are sweet for hammoks during the day and gatherings at night. When i was there, people staying at other places in town used to migrate down to the gazeebos at night to join in on the activites.
There weren't much for facilities, but it did have outdoor showers, gazeebos, hammoks and a little rundown badmonton net with a couple of beat up old rackets and birdies. It was the atmosphere, charm and feel of the place that set it apart and gave it that extra something special.

Pai Riverlodge: Lazy Days
I found Pai Riverlodge an absolutely charming place. My brother first took me down there as I had no ideas what any of the guesthouses in Pai were like. He thought it would be absolutely perfect for me and this was how it turned out to be. There are only 12 bungalows here so the atmosphere is very close knit and you feel very looked after. They have just completed a renovation of the toilet areas and a couple of the bungalows.
The guys who run it are fantastic, they are always up fpr a laugh and love to go out and have fun with everyone. Their first priority is naturally the guests though and they will do anything for you.
Breakfast is served here all day as are fruit shakes and refreshments.
I ended up staying in the guesthouse for the entire 8 months I was in Pai so now I am treated like one of the staff. You may think my views are biased but I wouldn't have stayed there so long if I didn't love it right?
Set directly next to the river in a quiet yet fun place. Has western toilet facilities now as well so no more squatting!!!

River View Huts: Experimental 'camping'
Wanna stay in a bamboohut on poles in the middels of the ricfields? Not scared of going out of your hut in the middle of the night and go to the toiletbuilding through the field?
Not scared of cold showers and lizards looking at you in the toilet?
Ok, try this then!
The view on the river and the ricefields is great!
