Floating house

It’s one of the Phitsanuloke symbol. There’re no evidence of floating settlement in this area. Some siad they came by their career as floating merchant,when the commercial on river was became less important, they began to settle the floating community in this area. Originally, it was a big community with 300 floating houses,but from the government legal and pollution. The number was decreased and become a small community ,nowaday. And some become to restuarants which may change the local community to commercial.
For building floating house, originally,they use a numorous bamboo trunks for floating and house body. When bamboo ‘s higher price, fuel tanks and zinc plate roof replaced . Althought , it changed much for now,but it may tell how history go.
To see floating houses, Chom Nan public park is a good place.
Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat temple

"Temple"
Or local named " Wat Yai". Located near Nan river on the East Bank. This temple built in Sukhothai period and renovated again in Ayutthaya period.
The must see things 're the principal Vihara. Inside houses a golden buddha image with a beautiful character called Pra Budhha Chinnarat which built in Sukhothai period.
"Vihara pediment"
The principal vihara or Vihara Luang 's the mixing between Sukhothai and Ayutthaya Art. Roof and pediments decorated with gold and colorful glass 's so interesting .
"The main Prang"
In the Central of temple 's the main Prang which built in early Ayutthaya period. Some assumed that in the Sukhothai period, the lotus bud Chedi located here. And when Ayutthaya empire ,they changed to Prang by constructed over the old structure. Till now we can see a some parts of lotud bud Chedi, if you climb to the main room inside,but just open when the temple ceremony time.
"Museum"
Aparts from building, there're museum in this temple. Most of object s found in Phitsanuloke area and especially , in this temple.
For visiting , this temple 's near the Nan river . Very easy to see and reach.
