Fabulous Garden Living
This guesthouse was one of my favorites in all of Thailand. The people are friendly, the service is prompt, and the atmosphere is so pleasant. The rooms are small huts centered around a garden, which have fans to help circulate air in the hot afternoons and evenings. It is a bit on the outskirts of town, but that helps keep too many people from noticing it, and I consider that a good thing.
Unique Quality: The restaurant which is attached to the guesthouse is terrific. The pineapple pancakes are heavenly, a must try for breakfast!
The proprietors are able to hook you up with tours of the surrounding area if you wish. They lead mountain bike tours as well (even providing the bikes) which were a lot fun but we didn't have time for. Still, it is full of amenities that make it a delightful place to stay while exploring Sukhothai.

Simple, friendly guest house in old sukhothai
I read about Ban Thai guesthouse in the lonely planet guide. It seemed like a nice, cheap place, and i wasnt especially bothered. The rooms were nice as were the facilities. The guy who ran the guesthouse was European and very god with all his staff - it was a like a big extended family. The menu was good and there was an awesome book there that he had made about thailand that guests had added to over the years. If it hadnt been for this book i would never have gone to Cambodia at all!
Ban Thai gueshtouse was perfect for me as i was only in Sukothai for a day.

Banthai GH
The room is nice. Shared bathroom with 2 single beds in the room. They dont have a single room.
The GH is very friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant attached.

Q: How to get from Sukhothai to Ayuthaya? "Hi! Need to get to Ayuthaya from Sukhothai. If it possible to get there on bus, or the only way is the train from Phitsanulok?..."
A: "No idea of timings but there is a bus service between the two cities. Once there ask for directions to the bus station, or ask your hotel to check for you."
