The steps up to Wat Saphan Hin and Wat Phra Bat Noi are made of slabs of slate. I remember on the way up there are small Chedi's and other points of interest just off of the path, as well as many other ruins further down the hill, over the road and into the forest, but i didnt see them all.
I have included a link to a website I found which contains very detailed and interesting information about all of the Sukhothai temples and ruins.
This is a good starting point before you enter the park . There is some good artifacts but unless you are a true historian I wouldn't linger more than an hour . There is so much more to see outside!!
I saw several postcards of this hand and never actually knew where it was so it was a welcome site when i walked through the 3 m thick walls of Wat Sri Chum and saw this. However I was honestly expecting to see a little monk boy sitting here like in the photos - how silly of me.
Situated on the Southwest of Wat Mahathat . A small temple surrounded by a laterite wall and pond called Sra Loi Baab.Inside the temple,located the Vihara on the West and a group of three Prangs as the main buildings which constructed with Khmer influence. In this temple found a lintel depicted Vishnu declining on Naga in Milk Sea and some parts of Hindu god statues or even Siva Linga. And the style of Prang is in Bayon style of Ancient Khmer in 18 Buddhist centuries.It was built in the same period as Ta Pha Dang Shrine.This temple used to be a Hindu shrine but later in Sukhothai period,it was converted into a Buddhist temple as can see Sukhothai Vihara at front.
