What made our stay at the Rainforest Resort was the relaxing style of the resort. It was totally different from western 5 star resorts because it was totally Thai. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, small rooms where our TV could not get CNN or BBC. It was not 5 star accommodation, but it was 5 star relaxation, surrounded by magnificent tropical plants.
It was easy to find a secluded spot, relax on a nice chair and be with nature.
Unable to find information on the Internet about the Rainforest Resort, I was hesitant in my expectation.
Upon arrival the hotel's common areas looked pleasant, all open air and on various levels surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. It looked very attractive.
Upon allocation of room key, we made our way down the sloping path winding through magnificent jungle. Our room was in a small cabin with bathroom, shower, nice bed and one small stool, bar fridge and old style TV. Once the suitcases were delivered there was little room to move. The airconditioning worked well.
Once we settled in and stood on our verandah and absorbed our surroundings my wife said she loved it. A change of scene from the normal small rural hotels we had experienced.
More joy was to come with the evening meals supplied for the princely sum of 250 baht per person. Plate after plate of tasty Thai food was brought to our tables of 6 persons. No limit to what you ate, all personally brought to your table, not a buffet.
Our 3 night stay still stands out as the best of our 21 day Thai adventure.
