"Sofitel Magic Lagoon Resort & Spa"
Khao Lak is 1.5 hr drive from Phuket. Yes, quite remote and absolutely away from all the fun at Patong. And it is exactly why I chose Khao Lak. You can have all the peace and quiet. I stayed at the Sofitel Magic Laggon Resort & Spa and it is wonderful! It is very new, just opened a year of so. In fact, the Japanese restuarant and the Thai restaurant are still under construction. But no harm done. The resort has an amazing private beach, a lagoon-style pool where you can begin swimming everywhere in the resort. The idea is just amazing!
"More about the hotel"
Apart from the beautiful beach and the large swimming pool area (about 14000 sqm), the resort also offered various daily activities, e.g. archery, water polo, beach volleyball, yoga, gym room, etc. In my opinion, you really don't have to do anything, just lie on the beach and let the time slipped away.....
"Heavenly Beach"
The resort has its own private beach. The shoreline is so long, the sand is so fine, and glitters! you can see a little glittering dots here and there! the beach is so wonderful! The wave is a little strong, swimming may not be the best idea. But standing in the waves, let the wave pushed you to and for, it is fun!! I spent the whole morning there and an entire evening too. Watching the sun set, colouring the sky in scarlet hue, listening to the waves rushing to the shore ..... what else do you need?
