Where to eat?
by User101
Looking for nice place to eat? Best would be French-Thai based but all else welcome as well.
Cheers,

Best palce to eat in Khao Lak is PhuKhaoLak resort. It is located at the bottom of the hill as you enter Khao Lak just on the right side of the road. This is also a great place to stay.
Chim and her family run this place. Mom and one of the other daughters are the cooks and they are good. They have an updated menu with a very big selection of meal. It is not french based but good none the less. People from other resorts come here to eat nightly. Their seafood plates are very good. We ususally stay here when in Khao lak and we have tried other palces and it just is not as good.
Enjoy!
Say hi to Chim for us!

thanks a lot mate. We're staying at the JW MArriot and dinned there once which was very nice but will try your place tonight.
Must say we went out to Khao Lak last eve and it was not even worth the 15 min cab ride... :-)

Yeah there is not a lot happening in Khao Lak. But that is one of the reasons that we like it, we were looking for a place away from the tourist areas like Phuket.
What we like to do is get on a bike and hit the road, sometimes for a couple days at a time and just see where the road takes us. We have found some really pristine deserted beaches, small towns that tourists avoid but have some great crafts and food as well as some really neat refreshing waterfalls well off the beaten path.
would like to hear how you liked or disliked the restuarant at Phukhaolak?

Scuba diving in the Similan Islands

Being so close, you cannot visit Khao Lak and not take a trip to the Similans!
I have covered this elsewhere on my page.
I recommend Sea Dragon for their professional attitude, friendliness and competitive rates. Of course you can take your own equipment but I prefer the convenience of renting. Sea Dragon's rental equipment is very good.
