Koh Khao Island - advice wanted

Hi, can anyone point me to any good sites about Koh Khao island which is just outside Khao Lak? I've seen a few nice resorts on here but wanted to know is there much in the way of beach bar / restaurants around them (like on other beach resorts such as Railay, Samet, Lanta, Phangan etc) or are you mainly restricted to the hotel restaurants? We dont like being restricted to just the hotel resort and enjoy having a wander and trying out different places each night. I've heard the only real alternatives are to eat around the pier area. Not much on the web to help though. Cheers.

it's far from the main area of Khao Lak, at least half an hour or so by car. If you want more choices of restaurants, shops and massage places, stick with Bang Niang beach or Nanthong beach, both are the most developed areas of Khao Lak.

Sea Dragon Rocks!

Hi Just a word on how great it has been to go diving in the Andaman Sea with the folks at Sea Dragon! I have been on 8 live aboard trips with them and have enjoyed tremendously. I have been lucky to have seen Whale Sharks at Richelieu Rock on a few occasions and Manta Rays at Koh Bon and other dive sites also. Not to mention the spectacular corals and rock formations the place is awesome! I have made friends with the dive masters there and am looking forward to seeiing them again soon! I have always used the equipment from Sea Dragon and have never had any problems with their equipment.

A: "Just go out there and there are some guest houses around the city strip that are cheap (main road), but most activities are around the resorts. i just do not know how..."
