No, everything will be open just not as busy as they will be in Dec.-March. I think you will be just fine. It may rain once or twice a day and be a little hotter than the coolest months Dec., Jan., And Feb. but it's really no big deal. The rates go sky-high in the high season because they can get it. Travel at your convenience and have a great time!

Khao Lak - Quiet and great diving

"Khao Lak - nearly perfect"

Living here in Khao Lak is great - if you like a quiet life. There are not really nightclubs or late night bars. The "karaoke" bars that infect other parts of Thailand have not really arrived here ...yet.
However the really annoying taxi drivers and aggressive tailors are present. Just shrug them off.
But come for the beaches and diving! The best diving in Thailand is right offshore and the best snorkeling int he entire region is just up the coast at the Surin Islands.

A: "Just go out there and there are some guest houses around the city strip that are cheap (main road), but most activities are around the resorts. i just do not know how..."
