Thanon
This place quite laid back but the center of Hadyai quite hectic. I was wandering around and this area where I found guesthouse to stay. Local food to eat too but not that nice though. It's different than Bangkok.

Hi I will be going to Hatyai in November and like to go to Krabi by bus.Is there a vip bus to krabi and what is the fare.
John Roberts,
Will we ever see a sensible reply from you?
Above link is for buses from Bangkok to Krabi!!
not really sure if there is a VIP bus as it's a relatively short distance (about 5-6 hours or so). VIP routes usually run for much longer distance, eg. Bangkok to Phuket, Bangkok to Chiang Mai. I'm guessing the fare should be 300 Baht or less for first class. There should be frequent buses as any of the Hat Yai to Phuket bus should stop at Krabi as well. Just check at the bus station, as there are a few companies that do this route.
It could be quicker to take one of the many small minibuses that run up and down between Phuket and Hat Yai, they all will stop at Krabi along the way unless everybody is heading for the same destination.
You find many of the minibuses around the train station. But their are a few travel agents and some hotels in Hat Yai that can arrange it for you and pick you up wherever you are staying.
The VIP buses travelling from Hat Yai to Bangkok usually leave late in afternoon for the overnight journey to Bangkok so they arrival 6-7am time.
Their are many ordinally buses going to Krabi but they make many stops along the way.
I think best bet would be minibus.
hello,,,i recently go to krabi,,,just take minivan from many travel agent around hatyai,,which is cost around 4oo baht/pax

A woman at the market near Wat Hat Yai Nai prepares a bowl of chilis while feeding her granddaughter.
Unfortunately for them both, a strange-looking white-skinned, large-nosed farang fella is cruising the streets with a camera.
One of our first stops in Thailand was this seven tier waterfall 25 km from HatYai... We made it to the third tier! We went on a Saturday and it was absolutely packed. We were the only white people there and people definately noticed us as we passed by - mind you, it was probably because we were sweating and crawling up the cliff side as the locals jogged passed! I had a feeling they would burst into applause as we reached the top! Each and every person waved shyly as they sped passed us!
It's not an easy climb, but you don't have to go all the way up to enjoy the view - this whole area is stunning and lots of people bathed at the bottom. But those who are capable of making the climb - I would recommend it.
They don't allow and food or drink passed certain checkpoints on the trail..... but we have a confession..... we saw the park wardens confiscating all liquids (including water) before we reached the checkpoint and decided to play it totally dumb..... THE SHAME!..... but it worked!!! Assuming we couldn't understand them, the wardens gave up and let we pathetic English folk pass with our consumables in tact! HURRAH FOR BRITISH IGNORANCE!!! Actually, it was a good job because those Thai boys might be able to race up the mountain side without a drop of water in sweltering heat - but I certainly couldn't!!!!
The Odean Shopping Mall is a 5-storey department store and sells medium to upscale products and goods... There is a whole floor dedeicated to clothing with jeans, casual wear, business wear etc together with accessories... Other merchandise include shoes, comestics, swim wear, gift items, sports goods etc... There is also a food court on the fifth floor... As this is fixed price establishment, not bargaining is entertained... There are often sales and promotions where there are up to 30% discount from the listed price...
As is the case elsewhere in Thailand, Tuk-Tuks can be a convenient way of getting around.
Watch out with some drivers though. Tuk-Tuks are an essential part of Thai life and without them a lot of Thais would not be able to get around as they need to. Unfortunately some drivers try to take advantage of foreigners and if you don't agree a price before the journey they will try to charge you a ridiculous amount when you reach your destination. Therefore make sure you know the fare before you get on board. This kind of thing just doesn't happen with Thais.
