Patong Lodge Hotel is off shore hotel which is 5mins walking distance to Patong beach and good place for those who wants to try island safari which is 15mins away if you love to do elephant trekking while in Patong, Phuket.
Their hotel is very clean, good aircondition with 2 swimming pools and jacuzzi with a good view background of Phuket Island. Hotel restaurant have a good service and foods are extremely delicious.

"4d/3n adventure in Thailand - March 21-22, 2009"
arrived Suvarnabhumi airport at 3:50pm, then hired a taxi that asked us to pay 700Baht (i think, it's too much, but, I wanted to catch on the Sai Tai bus terminal going to Phi Phi Island that late afternoon) the taxi driver was a little bit old and kind, though he wanted to tell me more about Bangkok City and those temples we have passed but I can't understand him as he speaks in Thai language. It's a little bit disappointing while traveling in Thailand because of the communication barrier, but, despite of that, i've enjoyed the place. We left Bangkok City at 8:20pm heading to Krabi town arrived at 7:30am for 626baht/person. Then from Krabi Town went to a travel agency named (Sea Angel)-a very accommodating travel agency and booked for a half day tour in Phi Phi Island with lunch on a speed boat for 1300baht/pax and a cruise ship from Phi Phi to Phuket for 400baht/pax last trip from Phi Phi pier is 2:20pm, 1.5hrs travel time.
"2nd day tour in Phuket, Thailand-March 22-23, 2009"
left Phi Phi pier at 2:20pm then arrived in Phuket Pier at 3:50pm,we hired a mini van from the ticket guy inside the cruising ship for 150baht/pax dropping us in our hotel - Patong Lodge Hotel(2000baht/night with bfast), a very good hotel, clean and delicious bfast located at Phra Barami Rd going to Kamala beach, it's an off shore hotel which is 5mins walking distance in Patong Beach and 15mins away to Island Safari for our elephant trekking the next day. I had a good back massage from the elephant with its trunk tickling my neck and ears the tour length is 2.5hrs that includes the full insurance & guide, elephant trekking, monkey show, ox car riding, elephant show, thai rice farming, buffalo photo and hotel transfer. "BKK City traveled all alone by myself-Mar,23-24'09"
from Phuket Island after the elephant trekking and wonderful beach, left Phuket town at 3:20pm, on a bus for 501baht/pax stopped at Mon Chit Bus Terminal, Bangkok City arrived at 6am (had an hour bus problem on the road), then I traveled Bangkok all by myself with just the Map of Bangkok City, and followed all the street directions to see the temples and tried the public boat at Chao Phraya River for 3baht/pax. I wanted to see temples like Wat Arun Temples (50baht entrance fee), Wat Po (50baht entrance fee) and Grand Palace (350baht entrance fee).

Definitly by air. You could take a bus but that would be about 16+ hours. Train is about the same as you have 12 hours to Sura Thani, then another 3-4 by bus to Phuket, Yeah, Air!! An hour by air. Several choices, Bangkok airways, Air asia or Thai air. All are good but www.airasia.com ,probably the cheapest, they all go to the same place and take the same time so why not go cheap!?
