Ko Lanta 2008 Part 3

"Street Scene"
Here is a street scene near Sinkiang Bay on Ko Lanta. Sinkiang Bay is a few kilometers south of the Narima Bungalows.
"Thats me"
Well, what should I say. Thats me drinking a coffee at the scubafish dive shop at Sinkiang Bay.
"Speed Boat"
This is the speed boat for the dives to Hin Daeng and Hin Muang.
"Narima Bungalows"
In the background you see the restaurant of the Narima Bungalows.
"Bungalow"
This is one of the bungalows.
"Bed"
A look into the bungalows.
That was my bed for the six nights on Ko Lanta.

"Lai Narm Beach"
This is a hut at the Lai Narm Beach not far away from the bungalow at Ko Lanta.
It was a walk of about 15 minutes from the bungalow to the beach.
In front you see the tables from a restaurant there.
The hut was also part of the restaurant.
"Beach"
Thank's to the stones you can see here in front there were no jet skis at the beach.
"Market"
Here is a picture of the small markt in Baan Lanta at the east coast of Ko Lanta.
The most people are moslems on Ko Lanta. Sometimes you have to ask to take a picture. When you travel a little bit around in the province of Krabi you will see some mosques.
"Sugar Juice"
This is a second picture from the market. Here you can get fresh juice from the sugar cane.
"Kao Mai Cave"
There are two caves on Ko Lanta. One is the so called Tiger Cave. This is a small one. The bigger one is the Kao Mai Cave not far from the road crossing the island from west to east. I went there by motor bike on my trip to the east coast of Ko Lanta and Baan Lanta. The Kao Mai Cave is a family owned business. I had to wait for two others tourists for about 20 minutes. Then we went up a hill for about 30 minutes to the entrance of the cave.
"Kao Mai Cave"
Here you see one of the other both tourists with our guide inside the cave. It's very dark inside the cave that´s why you will be equipped with a lamp to find your way through the darkness. Inside you can see some stalagmites and some bats. You have to climb up and down on ladders and rocks.
"Sundown at Ko Hai"
This is the sundown at Ko Hai seen from the Narima Bungalows on Ko Lanta.
The meaning of Ko Hai is something like five islands.
Where is my cocktail ?
"Ko Hai"
This is Ko Hai. I hope you can see the small boat between the islands mainly rocks. So you can imagine how big the rocks are. The main dive spots where you can go from Ko Lanta are Ko Phi Phi, Ko Hai, Hin Daeng and Hin Muang. I´ve also been to Hin Daeng and Hin Muang but that was not so much fun. Both places are underwater rocks with a strong current. This are places to see whale sharks and only recommended for experienced divers.

I stayed at the Narima in October. It's really a very nice resorts, bungalows are quite large and clean, the food is delicious and the owners really care for you. The beach is not the best, there are many rocks in the water. And if you're looking for a busy nightlife this is NOT the place to stay.
I remember passing by the Moonlight Bay, but didn't have a look inside...

Well, as it wasn't really the season in October the water wasn`t so clear (there was quite a strong surf). Don't miss to take a trip to Ko Rok from Ko Lanta, great beach, clear waters and good snorkelling!
Hope you've had a great christmas and have a happy New Year!
