Great Koh Lanta Accommodation
by richard3206 about Sea Culture House
This is a friendly out-of-the-way pension on Phra-Ae Beach (Relax Bay) on Koh Lanta. It's run by two Irish ladies, has a great restaurant(?) and bar. It's definitely simple/ low key, probably only 1-2 star, but really friendly. Hard to find on the net, but do have a Facebook listing "Sea Culture" and email, The Shack'ra @ Sea Culture Resort (I know this has spaces, but I've copied from their Facebook)

reviews of Narima, Relax Bay and Baan Lanta?
by kilocharlie
We are going to Koh Lanta in January and would like a nice bungalow on the beach, not too expensive, but mid-range (50-100$) and also with some local character. We are presently looking at 3 places: Narima, Relax Bay and Baan Lanta. I read some mixed reviews about Narima, including one that says it is not well-kept (debris in the pool, musty sheets). Any more views on Narima? Has anyone been to Relax Bay? I haven't seen any reviews on that one. I did read some good reviews from Baan Lanta. Any other suggestions?
Choice to stay on Lanta!

Is Klong Dao beach, far to walk to Long beach (Pha Ae Beach)?
I am hesitating between the 2 places to stay a few days. Very important is also to have some nice bars (regular) to have a romantic drink in the evening. I like a cosy, neither too luxurous, but neither too basic with bungalows on the beachfront at a fair price!
I stumbeled in these;
Lanta Bee Garden Bungalow
Relax Bay Resort
Good days Lanta Chalet & Resort
Lanta Longbeach Bungalows
Somebody stayed at these places? Somebody know where bliss bar is?
Thank you!!!

ANybody been to Lanta Long Beach resort?
by beachfish
There are two Long Beach resorts, direct next to each other, ?!, sounds like a potential scam, but the new one is from the original owner of Relax Bay, a great place and very similar, Long Beach is with AC in cute wooden huts at Long Beach. The older Long Beach resort, run by French Canadian woman, is more a hippie place and less comfy and basic.

I have stayed at the NEW Lanta Long Beach Resort.
Yes they are next to each other, and no, there is no scam. Just two parties trying to capitalise on virtually the same name.
The Lanta Long Beach resort run by the Canadian woman is old and shabby, maybe borderline hippy. Has a small but fun bar on the beach. Restaurant is substandard. The Canadian woman is a weirdo who has a penchant for getting so drunk and making a fool of herself through injury. She's really strange.
For a little bit more money (total cost per night 1000 baht) we stayed at the NEW Lanta Long Beach Resort. Cabins are spotless and have aircon and fan and fridge as well as outdoor showers outside each cabin for getting the sand off you. The are reputable travel agents, rent out motorbikes at 200 baht per day and are super-friendly.
I have no hestitation in saying that you will feel ripped off staying at the place owned by the Canadian crazy woman (even if it does have a vollyball net).

i totally disagree with you.I stayed at the original lanta long beach(the hippie place) and had a great time. The people were great, the food was delicious and the bar was a blast. It's one of the best times i ever had staying anywhere. It is,however definetley a very basic traditional style bungalow and if youre looking for luxury this is NOT the place. If youre looking for authenticity it is! In fact if you have the web site address,I would love to have it as I've been looking for it so I can stay there again this spring!
