Hat Yai to Ko Phangan

by ManuNeko

Does anyone know how to get from Hat Yai to Ko Phangan? Or can someone tell me where I can find information about that?

Also any information about places to stay is more than welcome. I just started preparing my trip and I am looking for as much info as I can get. We are travelling with a 1 year old and want to stay on a nice beach, quiet and not too expensive.

When you are in downtown Hat Yai, there are plenty of travel agencies that can provide mini van service to Koh Phangan (or anywhere else in Thailand). Just shop around before you decide on one.

Travel Tips for Ko Phangan

Along the beaches are small...

by Steve-H

Along the beaches are small gatherings of huts usually around a central bar, here's ours taken by Andy whist stood in the sea, low tidal range you see. Thats me in the red shirt heading for the bar.

Short Distance Kayaking

by Elva-4

another sport to do in ko phangan while... just do kayaking to another small island nearby.... for me it was really exciting sport and sunbathing. :-) All you need is kayak, and life vest.... all in one price when you rent it. It is cheap!!

Chaloklam

by kranstonakov about Cool Runnings

this is cool wee stoner bar owned by a french guy who is really sound. They encourage the use of cannabis and provide mushroom shakes to the more adventurous traveller like myself. You can drink one of these and trip out for 6 hours at the bar, its one way of passing the night in! good reggae tunes as well. none

Long Tail

by paula_p

These are at every cove. They cost about 100 BHT per person... be careful in choppy seas, they don't seem too sturdy. Quickest way to get to the next beach... This pic was on a terrible day tour from Thon Nai Pan to Bottle Beach. The water was too rough to snorkel and the guy took us to some little waterfall that was pretty much a trickle down a rock. Notice the not-so-happy faces!

Good Simple Food Pt #2

by LakeFever about Casablanca

When we returned Jan 08' on the evening of the FMP Casablanca was packed like any other restaurant. We looked across the street and there was another Casablanca restaurant.....same restaurant PT 2. WE were all able to find a seat in group of 6 and had our fav dish. Same type of serve and atmosphere. The menu was a carbon copy of the visits past. The Pizza.....only if you like thin crust.
Cost 180B-200B ea.
