I will be in Ko phangan in mid February but don't want to be near any full moon parties. I want something quieter but not too deserted....I still want to have a good time. Any recommendations on good areas and beaches to stay at? Also any suggestions for budget accomodation?

We spent 2 weeks on Had Yao beach and stayed at the Long Bay resort a couple of months ago.
The beach is about 20 minutes drive from Thong Sala, the capital town and where the pier is.
There are no full moon parties on this beach but the beach still offers a good selection of restaurants and beach bars. You will also find a couple of minimarts to buy drinks, snacks, souveniers etc.
The Long Bay resort is probably the nicest on the beach that offers accomadation for different budgets.
We paid 2000 Baht for an aircon bungalow with cable TV a couple of steps from the beach. The resort is also the only one on the beach with a swimming pool.
