Comfortable and Affordable

Our stay in Neptune's Villa was a major contribution too the magic of our experience in Phangan. Because we visited during the low season, the staff was able to provide us with personable and prompt assistance whenever we needed.

For 500 baht a night, we got an aircon, beachfront(almost) double bed "bungalow" with a veranda, hot water shower and modern seating toilet. Fresh linen was provided and the bed was made everyday by cheerful local girls.

Located on the quiet sunset side of Hadrin beach, we were barely 10 mins walk away from the main shop area, yet totally seperate from the loud music and hustle bustle.

Quick Note: The walk-in rate was suprising half that of the listed price on Sawadee.com.

Unique Quality: The unique value-added feature of Neptune's Villa is its grounds that is planted with a myriad of garden plants that immediately makes the place more homely and welcoming.

Neighbourhood Dogs and Cats immediately adopt you (make no mistake it's THEM adopting You, not the other way round) and follow you around the compound, guarding your door while u sleep or chat on your verandah. Not asking for more than an occasional leftover ro some affection.

Full Moon Party Accommodation?

by summers357

Hi!

I am a single female traveller and after some advice on accommodation for the Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan....i would quite like to stay away from the main party area, somewhere i can meet similar single travellers to go to the party with possibly.

Any advice is welcome!!

Thanks :)

recommented at Drop In Club Resort & Spa.Briliant place to stay .... had everything u required , friendly staff ...with 5 min walk to the market , the pier and the beach . Has a club within its premises. Food was catered for all types . i was surprised that even veggies got a lot of choices.
They have some good reasonable packages to travel to the places nearby .

Hi,
I stayed at "dew shore" guesthouse, which was about 2km from had rin beach. Its run by a family and I believe recently done up a bit, it was quite nice and the rooms are a few meters from the shore! It offers internet & motorbike/jeep rental facilities too. Really short walk from pharmacy/shop and temples in the hill, nice to get away from the craziness at the beach. I'll be in bkk from the 20th and definately going to visit the koh phangan and the party on the 9th July!

Travel Tips for Ko Phangan

Just relax

by diamond_dog

Koh Phangan can be be crazy around the Full Moon but it gets quite laid back directly afterwards which gives you a good chance to just chill out on a beautiful tropical beach. Other beach destinations in Thailand have more going for them in ways of infrastructure and ease of travel etc. but one thing that KPG and especially Had Rin has above all the others is babes on the beach. Take a walk along the beach in the week or so before the FMP and you will see what im talking about. All my memories of Ko Phangan are good ones i spent almost a year there over a space of about 18 months and i would go back there in the morning.

Things arent always as they appear!

Quite often in Thailand you arder something fomr the menu or pick something up from a street vendor and you get something pretty different from what you'd expect......of course cultural differences play a part - we all know that - but be open and ready for a surprise! In this case I bought (what I thought) was a nice freshly baked egg bun or bread or something or other.....they looked so fresh I bought four.......back at the bungalow I was so proud of finding this little thai bakery in the back alley of town - so to speak..........take the first proud bite AND......what is this???? In short, some sort of green filling........
And the million dollar question?? Was it good?? Ummmm, not really....well not at all.....one bite was it!...Ive got an open mind, but this wasnt going to cut it......The best part about everything was just how hilarious the whole scene was.
I ended up giving the rest of the donuts(?) to the cleaning lady....she was happy happy!
Things arent always as they appear!
Have fun.

Game Bar in Tong Nai Pan PT#2

During the day this is a good plce to chill out and chat, play games and listen to music.
They do have a small food menu and serve an amazing baguette for lunch 150-180B. Sorry no photo for some reason.....
By night time this is one of the popular places to go and the music is turned up significantly. Open area does turn into a dance floor complete with gliter ball, depending on the evening.
Run by a expat at night and his thai wife by day.

A group of us wandered up the road to try this place and so glad that we did.

It is like being in an overgrown tree house, with different parts to sit in. We were here when the rain suddenly came down. So the guy's at the bar picked up their guitars and started playing. My boyfriend and a couple of others got going on the drums. It was a brilliant night.

Just watch the stairs to the bathroom, they are a little slippery in the rain! No dress code
