From bangkok you can go by flight, bus or train to Surat-thani(Province) and then take boat to Pha-Ngan island(Koh Phangan).
By Bus : You can take bus to Koh Phangan(include boat ticket)from any agency at Kaosan road it cost about 5-700 baht(10-14 euro)
By train : You can take train to Surat-thani and then take bus to the shore and then take boat to Phangan cost all about 1000 baht(20 euro) http://www.railway.co.th/english/index.asp
By Air : You can take the airplane from any airlines such as Nok air(www.nokair.com), Air asia(www.airasia.com),Thai Air(www.thaiair.com)or 1-2-go airline(www.fly12go.com) it cost about 1000-2000 baht(20-40 euro)

anyway you can see more travel information from link below :

If you can spare abit of cash then the quickest way is to fly Via Koh Samui otherwise follow all the other travellers heading south by bus and boat.

You can do the train/bus/ferry for 1000 baht, and you can buy the ticket at one of the many travel agents in bangkok, but be prepared for a solid day of travel. I was told it would be a 13 hour trip, but from start to finish it took 20 hours.
I was there in high season and flights to koh-samui were ridiculous, but I think they'll have gone down now. depends on how much time u have to spare.
Haad Rin is bangin around FM parties, and even Half Moon parties but it can empty out after/in between.
If you have the time and money to get there, I'd advise you to check out Koh Chang. (around 6 hours of travel from Koh Phangan, ticket was about 1500 baht i think)

Travel Tips for Ko Phangan

Haad Rin Beach

by LakeFever

Report of the bech being an absolute filth pit during the full moon parties (which they are without a doubt)....they do clean up..and between the bashes it can be an ok place to tan, play volleyball and hang out. It can get quite busy at times.
Go see for yourself and stay for a bit if its your thing. As well you can take a day trip to another beach or up to tong sala for the day for a change of scenery.

Sea kayaking

by Teledude

You can rent these kayaks on almost every beach. They aren't the high end sea kayaks that you would buy to tour but they work for just paddling around the bays, getting a tan and exploring some of the outcrops. They are very stable and can be a lot of fun if you can find a little surf to play in. Rent everything. It's Thailand...it's very cheap.

Enjoy one or two.....MAX!

by LakeFever about BUCKETS

The famous BUCKETS are everywhere on the island...no place more prevalent than Hadd Rin on any given party evening. Each bucket includes a Micky (or little smaller) bottle of spirits...a bottle of red bull and a mix of coke or sprite. You can choose your ingredients...all for 150 baht or $4.50 Canadian.....served with a bunch of straws as they are meant to carry around and share with friends....very competitive prices on Hadd Rin....significantly more expensive buying from a bar on the island....get creative and buy the ingredients at the store...better yet, throw a party! Maybe a bib....or a wheelchair!

MotorBikes

by alvis

Renting motorbikes is quite cheap and you will not have to show a drivers licence. All you need to show is a form of ID. The deal is if you crash then you pay for any damage done to the bike.

The roads in Ko Phangan though are very dangerous with many deaths on the roads mostly due to motorcyclists. I managed to crash a bike in Ko Chang where the roads are much safer so i would never ride in Phangan.

Yummy... but on the pricey side for here

by beaniezotzim about Thong Thai

This was incredibly yummy. my husband got some beef dish in a white wine pepper sauce and the sauce was absolutely delicious. it is a little bit more pricey than the other restaurants on this beach... my husbands steak dinner was about $9 US. We spent about $18 US on dinner here. Really though, it was good, much better than almost all the restaurants Ive been to here. The owner (and chef) is thinking of selling and leaving so hurry!
