Budget bungalows
Finding a good value room on the island is next to impossible in high season (Nov-Feb). But even at other times you will still have to pay more for a standard bungalow on Phi Phi than elsewhere in Thailand.
If you want to stay in a beach bungalow close to where the action is, there are very few budget options.
I was quite satisfied with the Chong Khao, it's not directly on the beach, but the bungalows all have attached bathrooms and they're clean.
