This place has gotten mixed reviews, but for the price i gave it a try, and Im glad I did! This hotel is on Long beach, so its a 80 baht longboat ride from the ferry. The hotel is at the end of the beach, and up a very, very steep hill, so you have to be a sort of shape or at least willing to get a little execise on your vacation to make the trek. The views from the top are incredible! They have a pulley contraption to get your bag to the top which is a plus. I stayed in a sunrise bungalow for only 650 baht ( about $18 ) and it was fan only , but fine because their was a nice breeze at the top, with screened windows that opened up to let in the breeze. The bungalows were good size , with wood floors, and decent enough bathrooms with a cold shower ( it was all you needed) for the price. They had a great balcony with chairs so you could sit outside and enjoy the view, the sunrises were amazing and worth getting up for ! The sunrise bungalows were just as nice, if not better than the sunset one which were more, 1000 baht. The restaurant had good food, and the staff was nice enough and seemed to be trying to be more pleasant than past reviews. This is a great deal for PHi phi, which is a more pricey place to stay than some other thailand islands.
Unique Quality: The sunrise views, and the views from the restaurant at breakfast...wow!!
When I read other reviews about this place, I thought these people are exaggerating. Surely the steps to the resort aren't that strenuous. Let me tell you, THEY ARE. It is a huge choir to get up those steps. After several days I was getting a bit use to it, but I still huffed and puffed. Now I will be the 1st to admit I am middle aged, but I did catch some younger people huffing it as well. Okay, was it worth it? Overall barely yes. The rooms are probably the best bargin on Long Beach at 1200 Baht. They are very basic though, with just a bed and fan with no mosquito net. Big size room though. Plus there is no safety box, but I don't think that is an issue on this part of Phi Phi Don. The resort does have internet access computers, but fairly expensive. They also plan snorkel excursions to Maya Bay. There is a decent restaurant which offers free breakfast to their guests which is okay at best. A nice living space that has movies on DVD for later on at night. Overall barely worth it. I might pay a little extra, and strain my heart a little less, and stay right on the beach next time.
