Al's
Al's huts are a cheap and cheerful place to stay in Chaweng and you will in right in the centre of things. The huts are basic and set back from the beach, each has a fan or air-con. There's no swimming pool in the complex but there are ones in the hotels next to it which you can use. Can be noisey as there's quite often beach parties around there. Food - not so good.

FIRST TIME HERE
On my lastest trip to Samui, when I booked from the airport for my flight, I also booked a room here for 3 nights.
It was a nice choice as it turned out, the rooms were quite reasonable. My room came with air-con, mini-bar, hot water, TV, double bed, and a fridge all for 1600bht per night. This was not bad, but I know I can pay less for the same things at other places on Chaweng.
The staff are nice and friendly and the front desk will keep your stuff locked up for free at the reception desk. The security are around 24 hours a day, and like usual they got to know me well for the time I was here (they like beer..haha).
The only problem for me staying here was the fact I wasn't very familiar with this area of Chaweng, and when coming home from the bar at night, I got lost a few times.
Unique Quality: The beach area is only a short walk down the path and is very clean and peaceful. There is also a bar/restaurant at the end of the path just before you step onto the sand. There is Thai massages available on the beach near this bar as well.
