Very nice accommodation - Rooms are very nice and large
Service & Facilities top class
Unique Quality: Excellent pool surroundings & service from Bar outstanding
Massage's near beach front very affordable and relaxing.
I stayed at Baan Samui on my first trip in 1998 & really enjoyed it. The Baan is in a garden type setting, with a ground & first floor to accomodate the 80 rooms each with their own balcony.
Unique Quality: The Baan is situated on chaweng beach,it also has a large pool, nice restaurant(great breakfast)a bar at the front(right on the main road)called The Moon Walk Bar.The room facillities are what you would come to expect from a hotel in this price range.Rooms are approx $70 US to $114 US twin share(depending on exchange rate & time of the year ).
Directions: middle of chaweng a very short walk to the main entertainment area
We've just visited this hotel for the 3rd time (yeah, sticking with what we know), this time with 2 kids 3yo & 10months.
I can't fault the service. The staff LOVED our kids, and our 10mth old son loved the attention.
They even took him off us while we dined, giving us a few minutes of peace.
The kids pool is partly shaded throughout the day, and quite large. The happy hours by the pool are good value (95baht cocktails). And the restaurant out front serves great seafood.
We stayed in the junior suite which was fantastic. The Superiour/delux rooms are also very nice.
Would definitely stay here again.
Unique Quality: Good sized pool.
Directions: 3 doors south from Tropical Murphys & across from McDonalds
My party of four stayed here in June 2004. You cannot fault the location with a perfect beach at one end of the hotel and the lively main street with many bars, restaurants, shops and nightlife at the other. The hotel has a couple of restaurants, one overlooking the beach and sea and the other at the street end. The rooms are not particularly big or fancy and are decorated with wood, metal and bright colours. They are clean and there is everything you could need in them and I would recommend this hotel as a decent three star for Thailand. There is a medium sized pool and the gardens between the two blocks were very nice.
Going to Ko Samui in october and staying at the Baan Samui Resort. Has anybody stayed there recently. I am trying to get an email address for the resort. Can anyone help out. Does the resort hire motor bikes and/or Cars? What are the best type of rooms to get. We have booked a delux twin. Is there any particular floor or room i should request?
Can anybody tell me how much it may cost to hire a driver/taxi for the day (at least 6 hrs) to do a bit of sightseeing. Are there private drivers on ko samui or is it all taxis?
Thanks very much for your replys in advance
Thanks you so much for your reply
kind regards Gizzy
It depends on how many people there are in your group. If you have more than 4 people, you can also hire a Songteow for about 1,500 to 2,000 baht per day (about 10am to 5pm). Taxis are more expensive but you can also hire check out the rates with your hotel. Some hotels do have private drivers as well.
