Good value for money resort

We were a family of four (18yr & 12yr siblings) and had two rooms next door each other, rooms were in nice quiet surroundings, close to the pool, which was is first class condition. The resort is on the beach, and you can chose to swim/sunbath at either the pool or on the beach. Breakfast was good, the service excellent. Rooms were clean and well services and the staff (many staff) were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this resort to someone looking for a good value holiday on Koh Samui

Unique Quality: Is in good position, near south of Chawend Beach, so quieter, close to many shops and restaurants and right on the beach with great swimming pool.

Happy Hour Every Hour

by jamiesamui about Magic Light Bar

Magic Light Bar is 3 bars next to each other situated towards the southern end of Chaweng if your heading south it`s about 50 metres past Banana Fan Sea Resort on the right & is seriously the cheapest drinks I have found on Samui.

The catchphrase here is "Happy Hour All Day"& you can drink a small bottle of Chang for 30 baht & also they have a basic list of cocktails (screwdrivers,Tequila Sunrise,White & Black Russians etc) for 50 baht all day & night.

Magic Light is staffed by the local lasses so if your a single male entering or walking past expect the normal friendly banter (hello hansum man) from the girls but if your with your girlfriend or wife (as I was) you will be treated courteously & served promptly. None

accomodation recommendations

by joolea

A group of four of us, in our 20s are planning to go samui and koh phangan for the full moon party this march. we are looking for recommendations for a place to stay and would like cheap bungalows that hopefully can accomodate four comfortably. strategic location, near nightlife and beach activities perhaps. any suggestions? is it easy to get from chaweng or lamai to a jetty to take the boat over to koh phangan? thanks in advance!

Hello,
There normally is no shortage of cheap accomodation on Samui however in light of recent events Samui is very busy but having said that you should be able to find some accomodation depending on what your version of cheap is.
Pretty much the best cheap accom in Chaweng is Charlies Huts which are situated pretty much in the middle of Chaweng Beach & close to the nightlife & are priced in the 300 THB a night range however I dont think the standard bungalows accomodate 4 but they might have some there that do, check member Mamasan69 page as he has stsyed there a couple of times.
The 2 piers to Phangan are situated at Nathon & Bophut & are easily accessible however if you are just planning to visit the FMP & return that night/next morning any travel shop will sell you tickets on a speedboat.
Hope this helps a little & check my pagr for some other tips & hints for Samui

Cheers
Jamie

Banana Fan Sea Resort is right on Chaweng Beach. I stayed a couple of years ago and was very satisfied.
