Bungalow at Chaweng

Nice bungalows right next to the beach in the busy area of Chaweng beach. Your accommodation is close to the beach and far enough from the crowded streets. Swimming pool AT the beach and a good restaurant with decent food at normal prices. The hotel provides free beach chairs, with sun umbrella and table.

Unique Quality: A beautiful tropical garden and a swimming pool right next to the beach. All rooms with aircon.

Christmas - Weather & Honeymoon Hotels Please!

by skippyman

Hello all,

We are getting married on Dec 23rd 2006 and are considering Ko Samui for our honeymoon. Can you tell me what the weather is like at this time, and also suggest some luxury hotels, great restaurants or anything else you think we should know!

Thanks

Steve.

That's the rainy season in the Gulf of Thailand. You'll be much better off going over to the west coast of Thailand to the Andaman Sea. Consider Koh Lanta and Koh Hai. On Koh Hai take a look at the Fantasy Resort. It's a perfect honeymoon getaway.

Lee is correct the better weather will be found around xmas time on the Andaman coast(Phuket,Krabi,Ao Nang etc)however you can still get plenty of sun Late December & January so if you had your heart set on Samui I would still go but understand it`s not the optimum time for Samui.

Have a look at Buri Rasa www.burirasa.com at the southern end of Chaweng Beach it would suit a honeymooning couple perfectly.

Hope this helps

Jamie

Great place for a honeymoon!! Most popular beach is Chaweng, but very busy, although hub for shops, clubs, restaurants and hotels.
Try other beaches north of Chaweng for a more "peaceful" stay (Tong Sai Bay).
Poppies is a very fancy resort in Chaweng. Try also Chaweng Villa Resort (2500 - 3500THB per night). They have a nice pool & restaurant on the beach.
Weather should be fine, except the place is crowded. Try to rent a bike rather than a jeep for transport as there is little car parking available in Chaweng and the streets are narrow. It's also cooler to travel with a bike. Don't worry, they don't ask for licences.
New Years eve is a blast!! Never seen anything like it.
Go to Laemin market - where the locals shop for food and clothes. Very interesting.
Must visit Green Mango and the Reggae Pub - clubs.
Always bargain when you buy clothes. If they ask 500THB, you offer 250THB and take it from there.
Fantastic country to visit. You will have a great time.
