Flight from Japan, Osaka KIX to Bangkok or Koh Samui

by huggy93

Hello I am trying to look for a flight to Thailand from Osaka KIX to leave around September 11, 2008. The problem is that I have never booked a flight from Japan to another Asia country before so I am not sure where to look. Can anybody direct me to any websites for cheap flights or names of travel agents that I can go to. I would appreciate it if you would let me know. Thanks

Travel Tips for Ko Samui

Songkhran

by JohnandSuzie

This event is over a few days in april the hotest and dryest month.......it is normally over a few days but once in Pattaya a few years ago it went on for 2 weeks........
Basically the whole country errupts into big water fights............you will wherever you are get wet in doors or outside...........don't bother changing into dry clothes you will just get wet again even battles rage while driving down the road and accident rates go up.
Its mad but fun and if you think it will annoy you after a while then miss this time of year or stay in your hotel room.................thats exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Need a Reggae Party!

by austarman about Reggae Bar

The Reggae pub is a great way to ease yourself into a good night out.
It starts off really at about 10.30 with some Reggae music and some rock ballads. They have a very good house band caaled "Big Roots" that has been playing there nightly for quite some time now.
As the place fills up a bit the band plays more funky dance tunes and some newer stuff and then hands over to a DJ for some of the latest dance music around.
Should you go there alone as I did when I was single and you will meet people and have a good time for sure.
Try thier buckets of Vodka and Red bull to get you kick started!! ;-P
Big dance floor and it is open sided so it is not as hot as other clubs in Chaweng. No dress requirement just cool and casual.
Shorts and a tee shirt for the guys is enough.

Getting around

by KoalaB

One can either use taxi's which are fairly reasonably priced but for the really cheaper alternative there are utilities with bench seats on the back and are covered to keep the sun off. They will stop and pick you up anywhere, just remember to haggle with the driver first (typical Asian style) so you all know the exact amount you'll be paying once you arrive at your destination.

For a special night out...

by tere1 about Poppies Restaurant

This is the restaurant to go for celebrating something or if you want a romantic dinner experience. The food is amazing and so is the ambiance and atmosphere. Very romantic, with candles, by the beach, you can't ask for more. We had a superb dinner here . We ordered the Thai set-dinner and we sampled various delicious dishes. This restaurants is located in Poppies Resort and I recommend that you book a table because its fame is so great , it's always full.

Samui Butterfly Garden

by heywinks

I loved having butterflies fly all around me while enjoying a hilltop view of Samui. There are at least 100 butterfly species in Thailand & 25 of them are represented at this garden. You can see some insects & small creatures displayed in glass paneled frames as well: butterflies native to Malaysia & Indonesia, crickets, tarantulas, spiders & other arachnids. There is also a bee house you can visit.
Your 170 baht entrance ticket includes the butterfly garden, the bee house, & 1 free glass of their signature drink (I missed out on that one).
