Chaweng Beach
We stayed at this hotel for 14 days and in my opinion, it's as nice as some of the 5 star resorts that I've stayed in but without the 5 star price tag.
Unique Quality: I recommend this hotel because of the location (Chaweng Beach), price, friendly service, private beach, swimming pool, breakfast included, air conditioned rooms and as with most hotels there is a travel agent located in the lobby for convenient planning of a variety of day trips.

Perfect Beach Hotel
I loved this hotel, it is on the higher end price of hotels in ko samui, but when compared to home it is a great deal considering what you get. It is about $50 (us) a night for the sea front rooms. We had our own bungalow with a porch that looked onto the sea. The room came with a buffet breakfast that was already really good, lots of fresh fruit, eggs, toast, omeletts made to order, etc.
The hotel is on the southern part of chewang, but is only a 5-10 minute ride on a taxi from the main part of town. The beach is also on a bay with a few other hotels so the beach was never crowded.
Unique Quality: Beautiful building, great price, pool, beach front, close to town, but not too close to the noise!

Chaweng room
We are going to visit Koh Samui (Chaweng) in August. Could anyone recommend a hotel that is central to the best beach and not so loud? We would rather have a room in a hotel than a bungalow. We want to spend around 50 $ per night. It must be clean and well maintained.Also, we would like to do some snorkling.What is the best tour? Thanks!!

Hi there,
We stayed at the Samui Yacht Club about 18months ago, and we're going back in about 3months. However, it is a bungalow style arrangement. We found all Hotels in the 'town' area were loud and people walked through your hotel area to get to the restaurants on the beach throughtout the day and night- (subject to theft). Yacht Club- Absolutely beautiful surrounds and very quite during day and night. Cheap from memory- about $50 Australian Dollars/night. About 5mins into the markets and shops- we hired a jeep which was very cheap and good to drive around the island(and cheaper than the Taxi's). The beach was small and only for ppl staying at the Samui Yacht Club.It also had its own large pool. Rooms were clean and fully serviced daily. We hired snorkel gear from the Samui Yacht Club -cheap.

the 2nd week of June 2007, I stayed three nights at First Bungalow Beach Resort at the Chaweng Beach, deluxe room by the swimming pool costs 2,000 Bahts(US$60) per night, bungalows cost a little more, 2 minutes walk to the beach, nothing to complain during my stay, for snorkling, consult the hotel receptionist, join a one day tour. Anyway, there are a lot of choices around the island, just do some research, good luck.
